An imam has been shot and killed in New Jersey; the killer is still at large.
Although authorities are saying there is no evidence that the murder of Imam Hassan Sharif was a hate crime, or act of domestic terrorism, that doesn’t sit well with the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Of course, the Council on American-Islamic Relations has nothing to do with this case. Its representatives don’t know who did the shooting, or why the imam was shot. They are not involved in the investigation, and simply know nothing at all about what happened.
Instead of saying they are relieved that there is no evidence of a hate crime, CAIR is impugning the Newark Police Department. This is another example of CAIR exploiting other people’s misfortune to promote its brand on TV. CAIR cannot stand to look irrelevant in this matter, and so its attacks the professionalism of the police investigation into the murder of Imam Hassan Sharif.
There is another familiar pattern present here as well. CAIR is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and prosecution in this case. But this is not CAIR’s money. This is money CAIR has solicited for the purpose of the reward. However, now CAIR can use that money as it sees fit. CAIR’s National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper told us how this works during the news cycle for the serial murders of four Muslim men in New Mexico. Hooper worked the phone, calling various people to see if they wanted to contribute to the reward for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the serial killer. This otherwise might be called fundraising.
This is the first TV attack by CAIR for this year. Something which is now a weekly occurrence.
“Murder of NJ imam puts Muslim community on edge” by Ted Goldberg, NJ Spotlight News, January 4, 2024:
With the Wednesday shooting still under investigation and no suspect arrested, the murder of Imam Hassan Sharif in Newark has stirred new concerns in New Jersey’s Muslim community….
The fatal shooting remains under investigation, and authorities say they have no evidence of a hate crime at this point.
Yet some Muslim community groups are questioning the early assertions from police and prosecutors, especially at a time with hate crimes are on the rise. Dina Sayedahmed, the communications manager for CAIR New Jersey, said on Thursday that the comments from officials feel dismissive, like a rush to chalk up the death to urban violence before the investigation is complete.
“It feels disingenuous for authorities to jump to the conclusion that there is no bias motivation because it’s over 24 hours since the shooting and there still is no suspects suspect in custody,” Sayedahmed said. “So it’s hard to say what the motive is when there’s really nothing that the authorities have given us.”…
CAIR-New Jersey has put up a separate $10,000 reward as well.

Do you remember the Twin Towers? The whole of America is on edge. Many people lost their lives including Fireman checking the towers had been fully evacuated when it collapsed with them inside.
I think to protect Muslims it would be a kindness for them to live in a Muslim country rather than wanting Sharia for America and other western countries.

I think it was an attempted robbery bu an aggrieved 14 year old who simply was having a tantrum. Nothing to see here. We get these nasty people all over Europe. Maybe therapy for the guy who shot him. Pure error. Be kinder

I’m betting it was a criminal robbery gone fatal or another Muslim.
Looking on Google Maps Street View there are two cameras on the front of the Masjid-Muhammad-Newark building. The police likely have seen enough to definitively conclude it was not a hate crime and CAIR is just competing with Al Sharpton for the best free TV exposure. Fame = Benjamins.

“It feels disingenuous for” CAIR to continue to lie that the Chapel Hill parking leftist nut was anti-muslim or to lie so often about hijab-snatching.
We’re all on edge about the advance of their supremacist ideology. Where’s our victim badge?

Chances are it’s a sodding mozzer that shot the bugger anyway

That did happen in the UK several years ago. One of the mosque’s attendees was of the opinion that an Imam wasn’t “Islamic” enough, so executed him. Up to the actual arrest of the disgruntled congregant, it was widely promulgated as a far right hate crime committed against an innocent Imam.

So CAIR now know how normal people feel when they’re attacked on the basis of immutable characteristics & authorities rule out a hate crime as being the motivation
As they say, alhamdulillah, or praise be to allah!

CAIR has to promote the islamophobia B.S. thats what they get paid to do.
