Wilders is trying to assemble a governing coalition. It is not necessary to ban mosques and the Qur’an in order to stop the advance of the jihad in a country; one must simply monitor those mosques and have no tolerance for those who would plot jihad violence or work to overthrow the secular state. At the same time, if the Netherlands and other European countries don’t move to end policies enabling mass Muslim migration, they’ll be majority Muslim soon enough, and then non-Muslims will most certainly have to be concerned about bans and restrictions.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Far-right Dutch election winner Geert Wilders made a key concession to potential coalition partners on Monday, announcing that he’s withdrawing legislation that he proposed in 2018 that calls for a ban on mosques and the Quran.
The move came a day before talks to form the next government were set to resume following the November election. The abandonment of the bill could be critical in gaining the trust and support of three more mainstream parties that Wilders wants to co-opt into a coalition along with his Party for Freedom, known by its Dutch acronym PVV.
One of those parties’ leaders, Pieter Omtzigt of the reformist New Social Contract, has expressed fears that some of Wilders’ policies breach the Dutch Constitution that enshrines liberties, including the freedom of religion.
During a parliamentary debate last year after the PVV won 37 seats in the 150-seat lower house of the Dutch parliament in the Nov. 22 general election, Wilders flagged a softening of his party’s strident anti-Islam stance.
“Sometimes I will have to withdraw proposals and I will do that,” Wilders said in the debate. “I will show the Netherlands, the legislature, Mr. Omtzigt’s party — anybody who wants to hear it — that we will adapt our rules to the constitution and bring our proposals in line with it.”…
Among three pieces of legislation axed by by Wilders Party for Freedom was one dating back to 2018 that proposes banning “Islamic expressions.” The text of the bill labels Islam a “violent, totalitarian ideology” and proposes bans on mosques, the Quran, Islamic schools and the wearing of burqas and niqabs….

He could probably still do some of it. Did not France ban some of the restrictive clothing in public? Males wearing the long flowing robes have been known to hide weapons underneath and the scarf can conceal much, as can face coverings.
Perhaps he can take ‘baby steps’ until his country is safer for non-mozlums.

Wilders to form a govt versus not, has to step back a bit but just don’t step back again and again. Later on he can prove that Islam is not a religion, thus not protected by freedom of religion but at a much later date. Goal one is stop islamic invasion. Second to monitor with what there etc

There is another reason Wilders must make his party more agreeable – The Netherlands is a financial center which must cater to the world without excessive political strife. It is one of those corporate tax havens, like Switzerland.

He may not ban mosques, but he does need to ensure that they are constantly monitored. He also needs to stop allowing in muslim migration, even if it means that he has to end all immigration to satisfy his potential coalition allies. In fact, he could offer those partners this deal: that he won’t propose to ban mosques or the quran, but in return, they need to back him up in banning muslim immigration as well as monitoring all mosques
One more thing: since he is the largest party, maybe he could just pass on forming the government, & challenge his opponents to form a stable government in the Hague, which they can’t. Usually, in any government, if the party w/ a plurality (assuming that it doesn’t have the majority) is not a part of the government, that’s a very unstable government. So one way for Wilders might be to dare his opponents to form a government w/o the PVV, & see how long it can last

I think the most important issue is stemming the tide of muslim immigration for the country, so a preliminary deal in place such as you suggest regarding the outright bans might be a smart initial play.
I do still have faith in Widers, though at first when learning of this story, i confess I felt some concern until I gave it more thought.
Of course he is far removed from Labour leader Starmer in the UK, whom being close to the seat of power & having presented a sniff of weakeness to muslims, found himself a short number of days later, grovelling in a mosque & removing his remembrance poppy, for fear it might offend in some way.
It will be extremely important politically & historically for the future of the Netherlands, how this plays out.
Can the various left wing & islamist groups dash to safeguard what they want &/or try to push through as much whilst they can during a time of transition?
Will those same groups sense a backpeddling of sorts by Wilders in his recent comments?
Wilders has to appear reasonable, yet not weak. he certainly has his work cut out for him that’s for sure.
However, given his past & all that he has loyally, bravely & boldly stood for, I for one am not yet willing to believe the battle for the heart & identity of the Netherlands will be lost.
For he is as aware as anybody when it comes to the true dangerous nature of islam & all the potential sharia compliant horrors of tommorow accompanying, if not correctly & legally dealt with today
We should all keep Geert Wilders in our prayers now more than ever I say.

Wilders must insist on counteracting the muslim conquest of the Netherlands and Europe. This is the main theme of his party and if he does form a coalition that does not acknowledge the need to counter islam and preserve our freedom and acts accordingly, he loses all credebility.

The way to fight Islam is through education. The ignorance of Muslims and non Muslims alike about the Quran and what it says as well as a full understanding of sharia is the problem. Once people understand the problem they can clearly see Islam is a political system that calls itself a religion. Where sharia and the constitution are in conflict must be understood by everyone. The only way to do that is to make learning those things obligatory.
Expand citizens rights to sanction those individuals and organizations that act or conspire alone or with others to take away individual rights guaranteed by the constitution.

I guess that Wilders, unfortunately, has to make political deals. Only the Hungarians, the Poles, the Czechs and the Slovakians seem to have almost all members of their societies awake to islam. In all our societies there are still too many idiots around who still don’t understand islam’s malignant nature. Wilders certainly gets it about islam. I just watched a small speech by him in English on the Michael Smith News website here in Australia where he pulls no punches and nails islam for the vile thing it is. People like Wilders, among politicians, are our only hope. It takes great courage to tell the truth about stinking islam in the way he does.

I’ll never forget hearing the Muslim activist, Chowdry (sp?), say in an interview with Amanapor on CNN just after 9/11 say; “We will use your Freedom of Religion and your Freedom of Speech against you to take over the UK”.
Melanie Phillips wrote a book called; “Londonistan” about 20 years ago. She said it is too late for the UK. I am writing this book to show the Americans how they did it. And truth be told, I’m watching it happen in the US just as she said it would happen.
I believe that infidels all over the West must realize and accept the fact that the world is already in a Holy war and act accordingly. The conflict in the Middle East with Israel and Hamas is just the beginning of the firestorm. Bless Robert Spencer and his associates for doing what they do.
