Houthis: ‘All American-British interests have become legitimate targets’

The Houthis know that the Biden regime is weak and bent on appeasing the Islamic Republic of Iran, of which they are a client. They know that this kind of rhetoric will likely bring them fine gifts from Washington, and I don’t mean more airstrikes.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have declared British and American interests as ‘legitimate targets’ hours after UK and US jets and warships conducted punishing strikes on rebel-held territories early this morning.

The Iran-backed rebels’ Supreme Political Council threatened retaliation, declaring: ‘The Americans and the British should not believe that they will escape the punishment of our heroic armed forces.

‘The joy of the aggressors will not be long, and our hand will be the upper hand, God willing.

‘All American-British interests have become legitimate targets for the Yemeni armed forces in response to their direct and declared aggression against the Republic of Yemen.’

The heavy allied strikes, which killed five people, according to the rebels, followed weeks of disruptive attacks on Red Sea shipping by the rebel group, who say they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Now, the Houthis’ vow of retaliation has further stoked fears the Israel-Hamas war could spill over and engulf the Middle East, with violence involving Iran-aligned groups in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria surging since the war in Gaza began in early October….
