The deal would have left Hamas intact and able to wage jihad against Israel another day. The international Left, avid to destroy Israel, will continue to push for this.

The approximately 130 Israelis still being held hostage by Hamas will never be freed, a militant leader said after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday rejected the terror group’s conditions to end the war.
“In exchange for the release of our hostages, Hamas demands the end of the war, the withdrawal of our forces from Gaza, the release of all the murderers and rapists,” Netanyahu stated in a video address.
“And leaving Hamas intact. I reject outright the terms of surrender of the monsters of Hamas,” he added.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, countered by saying Netanyahu’s refusal to end the military offensive in the territory “means there is no chance for the return of the [Israeli] captives” who were abducted in the group’s Oct. 7 terror attack.
Under a deal brokered by the US, Qatar and Egypt in late November, more than 100 of the estimated 240 hostages taken by Hamas on Oct. 7 were freed in exchange for the release of 240 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
Netanyahu has faced increasing pressure to secure the release the 136 hostages who remain in Gaza.
Relatives of the hostages demanded action during a protest outside his residence late Sunday.
“We need the government to now fix the problem that they have created and get these hostages home immediately,” said Jon Polin, father of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, according to Reuters….

The fool has it backwards. I feel sympathy for the families of the hostages….and for the hostages especially. But this guy is a fool.
Israel did not “create the problem.” With this mindset, he is in agreement that hamas should have what they want….and they want him and his family, friends, and all other Jews, dead. His family members held hostage, may already be.

Hamas, and their allies, instigated this war for a reason. They will continue on for that very reason. Why would anyone think they would stop their current demands are met?

Hamas prefers that Gasa be totally destroyed than to negotiate a realistic settlement.
Israel does not want to settle this war and have to fight a new war in several years.
There is no hope for a settlement at this time.

A promise of ONE full year of flooding the tunnel, either with salt water or with laughing gas, would do wonders. Unless the hostages are returned immediately, Israel will commence with a full flooding of the tunnels. The assumption is that all the hostages are dead. There is no proof. Sad as it is, a full year of flooding the tunnels, 24 hours a day, might really help the situation. And since the tunnels are not for legitimate use, the effort will be simply to flood. What the hell does it matter anymore? And just start the water, and don’t stop. No matter what is offered by Hamas, the flooding should go on for a year, and then talks can resume. I don’t think it will do anything to the Mediterranean Sea

It is pursuing Islamic eschatology and is hell bent to proceed and kill and kill till the last Jew.
We have an eschatology as well. Quite different from that of Islam After all there is a difference between God and His adversary!

It is very sad. I spoke to someone from Israel who believes that many if not most of the hostages have been tortured and or killed….and are not really a bargaining chip for Israel…but the only way to solve the Hamas problem is to eliminate them. However, many of their leadership is in Iran and or Lebanon.
