The BBC has for many decades been notoriously anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian in its Middle East coverage. Among the main offenders there was the execrable John Simpson, who for years was in charge of all foreign broadcasts as head of BBC World Services; there was Jeremy Bowen, who for years was the BBC’s Middle East Editor, and there is Lyse Doucet, now the BBC’s senior foreign correspondent, based in the Middle East, whose antipathy to Israel, and identification with the Palestinian cause, is palpable. Despite their scarcely hidden biases, none were subject to any disciplinary action, much less been fired. The BBC’s recent anti-Israel animus is on abundant display here. The BBC’s hostility to Israel hasn’t changed even after Hamas’ actions on October 7, including the beheading of babies, the burning alive of children, the gang-rape, torture, and murder of girls, the slicing off of women’s breasts, the gouging out of eyes and cutting off of genitalia from men, the children murdered in front of their parents, and the parents in front of their children. None of that matters to the BBC.
The new report states: “Manifestations of security breakdown are spreading throughout Gaza, and people are complaining about the phenomenon of theft and armed robbery.”
This lawlessness cannot be blamed on Israel. It is a function of Hamas’ despotic rule in Gaza, where the strongest — the members of Hamas, or those related to them — could expect the best treatment, including being the first to have access to humanitarian aid. Now that the Hamas’ rule has broken down, Gaza is a lawless region of sauve-qui-peut. The UNRWA has so far been unable to halt the epidemic of theft and robbery. It watches helplessly as crowds besiege, and steal from, the trucks bringing in humanitarian aid through the Rafah Crossing before an orderly distribution can begin.
Hamas has stopped most of its previous attempts to maintain order in Gaza, even in places where the IDF is not operating. Its forces are now being used only to fight the IDF, not to provide security for Gazans against lawbreakers, at a time when the security apparatus, including the police, has broken down and lawlessness prevails.
Mohammed Sheik Khalil is another Gazan unafraid to tell the BBC that he is enraged, not with Israel, but at the failure of Hamas’ police to arrest war profiteers, who steal humanitarian aid from UNRWA and resell it at sky-high prices to desperate Gazans. Could it be that the Hamas-run police are themselves war profiteers, who in exchange for not interfering with the theft and resale of aid, get a cut for themselves? Do the Gazans have the slightest reason to put their faith in Hamas, which has shown that it regards them purely as disposable human shields, useful if they keep the IDF from attacking Hamas operatives, and even more useful to Hamas if they are killed by fire from the IDF, which can then be blamed before a world audience eager to hear the worst about the Jewish state?
Mohammed Sheik Khalil doesn’t blame Israel. His autistic son “has not received treatment for months” — that is, even before the war in Gaza began, his son had not received the treatment he needed. The fault clearly lay with Hamas, the ruler of the Strip, that was stealing or misallocating aid that could have been spent on treating his son. And much of the milk that should have gone to his baby, and many other Gazan babies, was instead taken by Hamas to feed its operatives’ own families.
When the IDF has finally destroyed Hamas as a fighting force, there will be a great reckoning in Gaza, with ordinary Gazans likely to attack individual Hamas members, and to loot and then destroy the houses of Hamas members, including the seaside villas of its commanders. This popular rage against Hamas – which has brought a world of woe to Gazans since 2007 – should cause those Hamas operatives still alive to attempt to flee from the Strip, possibly by sea to Lebanon, where Hezbollah would welcome them. It is less likely that they could find a refuge, via the Rafah Crossing, in Egypt, for the regime of General El-Sisi is the bitter enemy of the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hamas is seen, correctly, as the Gazan branch of the Brotherhood, as it states of itself in its Charter.

And to think that I as a UK resident I have pay my TV Licence fee of a 159 pounds sterling per year to
read & listen to the BBC, if I do not pay I will go to prison.
If you don’t pay you could face a £1,000 fine
Watching ‘live TV’ without a licence is against the law. TV Licensing has enforcement officers that carry out checks. Fee dodgers can face prosecution plus a fine of up to £1,000 (up to £2,000 if you live in Guernsey) if they’re found to be watching ‘live TV’ or BBC iPlayer without a licence.
You cannot be imprisoned for TV licence evasion in itself, although you can be imprisoned for non-payment of a fine imposed by the court.
I never watch the BBC News or listen to BBC News on radio, why, they are such blatant bullshit artists.
Kittiekhatt50 says
You dont have to pay the licence fee, you can go online and complete a form stating you no longer require a licence, it lasts for 2 yrs, so when the 2yrs is up you go back online and fill out the form again..alternatively if you get a knock on your door from a tv licence operative, do not answer and do not open the door…

I’m not sure which is worse: the BBC or CNN.

How about NPR?

An interesting thing happened in the Royal Navy some years ago in the Gulf of Aden. The default news on board RN ships was the BBC. It was outside the reality of what these sailors knew was going on in their area they asked and received permission and changed their satellite feed to Sky-News.

Muslims should have posperous life, if they don’t have it, then it is the kuffar to blame, because the kuffar have spoiled Allah’s promise by not providing wealth and women freely to the muslims. So, not only Israel to blame, but also other non muslims.
If you say Allah is not capable to deliver his promise, it is a blasphemy, even though Allah clearly says that he is giving wealth to the muslims if he is willing. (I suspect Allah is not willing, but we are not supposed to say that, it is Islamophobia)
9:28 ,,, If you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you out of His bounty, if He wills. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise

God has forbidden this “allah” to make muslims rich ! Take that you muslims !

During WWI or WWII, I don’t remember having read where the people of France, Belgium or Niederland ever stole from one another. They fought the NATZ’s and the Austro-German Empire but not themselves. Even in the wars like the Hundred Years wars, people did not steal from one another. These sub-human creatures are proving that they care for no one but themselves except maybe Allah of course.
For the EU or anyone else to blame the IDF for the actions of the people of Gaza is beyond all rational.

The name of my country is Nederland ( in DUTCH ) , or in English : The Netherlands . Or in German : Die Niederlande NOT “Niederland “.( is German-isch word that doesn’t exist ) . We are NOT Germans Ray !

Bit like calling a Scotsman “Scotch”? They don’t like that.
But how much “Dutch” is there in “Deutsch”? All five letters.
And hey guess what -English is a Germanic language.
Anyway I’m sure that during wars people steal from one another.
The question is Do you blame that on the enemy? No. you can only say that with the presence of the enemy that some citizens will be more inclined to betray others and their country by stealing and violence, especially in multicultural Nation States. They can choose not to.
Ray Jarman says
You are correct and I try to catch my keyboard errors, I sometimes miss one. Having lived many years in Belgium and Germany, I often use the spelling that the nation’s inhabitants use.

the creepy so-called elites in Davos, say some really insane stuff and claim that “disinformation” is the greatest danger.”
And then they wholly engage in it. As the bbc has done.
I found this headline tonight:
FOX News
“Left-wing activist says it’s ‘so weird’ that Passover only about Jews, not others’ ‘subjugation'”
If she cared to know, she’d see this as a religious celebration….not a racist one. It isn’t about poc being enslaved. It’s about the Jews and how they became a ‘free people,” and beginning a Religious practice to remember their God and look forward to His Anointed One, the Messiah.
Hate for the Jews is so engrained and much of it is based on jealousy. Maybe all of it is.
