BOKKOS, NIGERIA — Armed groups have killed at least 160 people in central Nigeria in a series of attacks on villages, local government officials said Monday.
The toll marked a sharp rise from the initial figure reported by the army Sunday evening of just 16 dead in a region plagued for several years by religious and ethnic tensions.
“As many as 113 persons have been confirmed killed as Saturday hostilities persisted to [the] early hours of Monday morning,” Monday Kassah, head of the local government in Bokkos, Plateau State, told AFP.
Military gangs, locally called “bandits,” launched “well-coordinated” attacks in “not fewer than 20 different communities” and torched houses too, Kassah said.
“We found more than 300 wounded people” who were transferred to hospitals in Bokkos, Jos and Barkin Ladi, he said.
A provisional toll by the local Red Cross reported 104 deaths in 18 villages in the Bokkos region.
At least 50 people were also reported dead in several villages in the Barkin Ladi area, according to Dickson Chollom, a member of the state parliament….
The attacks which started in the Bokkos area spilled into neighboring Barkin Ladi where 30 people were found dead, according to local chairman Danjuma Dakil….
Northwest and central Nigeria have been long terrorized by bandit militias operating from bases deep in forests and raiding villages to loot and kidnap residents for ransom….
A jihadi conflict has raged in northeastern Nigeria since 2009, killing tens of thousands of people and displacing around 2 million, as Boko Haram battles for supremacy with rivals linked to the Islamic State group….

Agence France-Presse states, “The toll marked a sharp rise from the initial figure reported by the army Sunday evening of just 16 dead in a region plagued for several years by religious and ethnic tensions.” The writer seems to think that sixteen deaths is not very many. What if say ten Muslims were killed in Dearborn, Michigan? I bet that would be the front page in bold print about a huge slaughter but since this was in Nigeria, not much of an incident. One Christian slaughtered by anyone or group is one too many.
If one Muslim is killed in the West by a Christian, the international press would up arms but the killing of tens of thousands of Muslims upon Muslims does not reach the threshold of acknowledgement. It would be interesting to watch the attitude of people in the West if the major newspapers, websites and television news would apprise everyone how a government in Abuja sits on its derrière instead of using its well trained and large military force to irradicate these Muslim terrorist organizations but when the government is Islamic from top to bottom, what can one surmise?

I have seen literally no coverage of these atrocities in Nigeria by the mainstream media.
Apparently, it doesn’t fit a particular narrative – and there’s no money to be made…

Censorship of Muslim atrocities is not only endemic in the western media. When this was covered in the Nigerian media no mention was made that it was Muslims killing Christians. No mention at all of the motivation behind the slaughter. It was all “senseless violence”.

Sure the agenda to cover up for Islam certainly exists around the world,. in Nigeria as well.
There is also the fact that most people cannot believe a religion can be this evil, this murderous and this blood thirsty and sinister . They have to rationalize another reason for these killings in their minds.
