“The End of History” but then 9/11, ISIS,the suicide of Europe, …,10/7.
The end of Herstory….? Maybe with forbearance, Trans will be transitory and get tossed into the Dustbin of history.
Michael Paul Skok says
When I was a Catholic, we were told that we don’t worship Mary. But when I became a member of the Armstrong religion, we were told that Protestants regard Catholicism as a sissy religion. Two stories are told by Catholics which hint that the Catholic Church is a sissy religion: 1) A daughter of one family wanted to be a nun. But the father was against that. The father became sick and died. So then the daughter became a nun. 2) A young Catholic man wanted to become a priest. His parents wouldn’t let him. The young man died.
The Catholics pray the rosary and say the Hail Mary 50 times while they say the Our Father only 5 times. In the Catholic religion, the Immaculate Conception of Mary is the patron saint of the United States. The Catholic Church in the USA has a holy day of obligation in August which is the Assumption Day–the day Mary was taken up into heaven. There’s nothing in the Bible that says Mary was taken up into heaven.

Thank you Michael. You may be interested in this Catholic argument for the belief that Mary was taken into heaven – founded on scripture.

Dr. Glazov, I don’t usually disagree with you, but those Scriptures do not prove that Mary was “assumed” into heaven.
We can’t know if she has been resurrected or not. Those chosen by God, the “little flock” will have places in heaven. When they go is up to God and we are not given that information.
And, one other thing that reference page you gave says…that Christ ‘raised himself from the dead,’ is just not possible. He was dead and the Bible itself says that God would not leave Jesus in the tomb.
If Jesus could ‘raise himself,’ then He was not truly dead, which would nullify any claims for the rest of us to be ‘saved’ and resurrected after death.
And if Jesus could raise Himself, He would not have cried out before dying, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Only spirits may be allowed into heaven, according to what the Apostle Paul wrote. And Paul also wrote that “In later periods of time, some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading utterances and teachings of demons.”
We have to be very careful not to fall into that trap laid by satan and his demon cohorts.

I never said those Scriptures “prove” anything, nor am I trying to convince you of anything or to convert you. I was simply sharing the Catholic perspective and what scriptures it focuses on. Thanks.

I’m sorry, Dr. Glazov, I understood your “founded on Scripture” to mean it was ‘proven.’
No offense was meant and I realize you were not trying to convert anyone. Neither was I.

This was an interesting video until Mr. Glazov went on a rather creepy rant about Protestants. Then I stopped the video and lost interest in even hearing his guest’s response.
Protestants also have objections to the non-biblical concept of purgatory, the selling of indulgences to release those souls from limbo and pay for St. Peter’s Basillica in Rome (which started the whole reformation), the praying to saints, the emphasis on works righteousness instead of grace, the insistence on Catholic tradition instead of Sola Fide, Sola Gratia and Sola Scriptura; and the near deification of the Pope, etc.
Protestants love Mary, every little girl wants to play her in the children’s Christmas program. We just don’t deify her. Do you know the Qur’an actually states that the Trinity is God, Mary, and the Holy Spirit. Where would they get that idea?
Jamie Glazov says
If you didn’t stop the video because of your incapacity to hear views that don’t fit your own, you may have learned that Catholics don’t deify Mary.
