It’s hard to believe in evil until you see it up close.
Much of the Hamas enthusiasm we’ve seen has been at a distance, shaky camera shots of mobs of rioters, some quick clips of a poster-ripper or a few tweets or videos gleaned from the madness of social media influencers, but here they are given a full forum to speak at the Oakland City Council.
The issue on the table is whether the Oakland City Council will just demand that Israel stop attacking Hamas, misleadingly described as a ‘ceasefire’, or whether the resolution will also at least condemn Hamas’ mass murder of Israelis.
That brought out a cast of leftists to explain why opposing Hamas is racist, why Israel had it coming, and why Hamas didn’t really do it.
It’s instructive to see this because it’s taking place in an official formal environment. There are prepared statements. It’s not an out-of-context clash on social media.
This is evil up close.
And we’re not really allowed to see it. Usually, the media spins, filters and distorts, pretends that these people want a ‘ceasefire’ and are calling for peace and an end to the violence.

It’s instructive to watch this because you can see contemporary Nazis up close. They’re real and they dominate the Left. These people are not an aberration. If you doubt that, the Oakland City Council voted 6-2 not to condemn Hamas.
This is the base for AOC and the Squad. It’s also a reality we have to deal with. There are people who have been as brainwashed into evil as anything in Maoist China, Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. They are willing to defend and commit any crime.
We cannot afford to pretend that they don’t exist. It’s hard to believe in evil until you see it up close. It’s real.

I think the problem for the West is that perhaps half of the youth (say, 12 – 50 yr-olds) have no stable belief system to give them a purpose for life and plan to live it.
The military is unable to meet its recruiting goals because youth, without a specified purpose for why they are here on the planet, have no reason to defend anything outside of their own interests. Why would anyone be willing to die, having no vision beyond this life when a hedonistic life beckons? Why are too many youth without a life philosophy? Their parents didn’t teach them any and even if they did, universities try to destroy their foundations . In this present time people like Jordan Peterson are pilloried because drifting youth have heard their wisdom and realized they need responsibility and honesty for a good life.
How did so many youth get suckered into debt for a useless college degree? Why are they easily influenced?
Again it’s the lack of an education in responsibility layered on a strong moral foundation. We have extended adolescents masquerading as adults.

Transgender
The untethered find themselves with fellow travelers and then discover things like Muslims don’t like sexual deviants and where allowed would toss them off high buildings. It’s just another example of the lazy hedonism that permeates society – real education takes work.

If manmade climate change was really as big of an issue as some make it out to be , why haven’t these so called climate change warriors gone after the Air travel business and air craft that dump billions of tons of pollutants directly in to the atmosphere. When the rich and wealthy get rid of their huge polluting mansions, jet planes and private auto fleets, I’ll start to think about the problem. After all climate change takes place daily from cool too hot and the world has been doing so for millions of years. If you really want to help cut back dirty energy use stop buying Chinese made products and buy only local produced items, helps your climate concern and our local economy at the same time. Yes, then let us start with some of the ‘cultural’ items the USA has given humankind. The huge gas guzzling cars, fortunately a thing of the past but which surely contributed a lot not to mention the leaded petrol which took a long time to control. Then there are stock car races, demolition derbies, and monster trucks. The gas flaring at refineries which nobody seems to worry about. The excess lighting of empty buildings at night and the neon signs. Then there is the motor racing industry which flies the cars around the world just to drive around circuits going nowhere.

It has its own doctrines followed fervently by people with great emotion for something they cannot actually prove by using their own capabilities, relying on the writings of others in whom they have faith, and the more radical are speading their beliefs beyond rhetoric with violence or destruction of property.
Worse yet, it bombards the already-believing nonstop with doctrine and enforcement while ignoring the majority of the world’s population, which is not willing to cooperate. With such tunnel vision it proports to have the means to force the world to comply, like Islam.
I have a background in science and mathematics and can understand, follow, and check conclusions. So here is a challenge, Jim. Show us all, mathematically, how you would stop global warming using, any of today’s technology, without the cooperation of China, Russia, India, Indonesia, etc.
Are you one of those true believers, Jim? Will the spread of the doctrine bring the world cooperation, peace, and love? Or, do you think there are too many people on the planet which is bit like saying annihilating the buffalo herds was good because it reduced methane, a far more potent gas than CO2?
Do you think that the climate religion will retain its importance if the West(US) gets into a nuclear exchange with Russia or China and Nuclear Winter develops? I find it amusing that there are so many fervent religious-like social movements completely ignoring the reality lurking in the background.
