MAIDUGURI, Nov 6 (Reuters) – At least 15 rice farmers were killed and several others feared abducted in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno state after suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked three villages, a local farmers’ leader said on Monday.
The attack occurred in the villages of Koshebe, Karkut, and Bulabulin in the Mafa local government area in the state, about 15 kilometres from the capital Maiduguri, Mohammed Haruna, secretary of the Zabarmari Rice Farmers Association, told Reuters….
Haruna said the Islamists stormed the villages on motorcycles and attacked the farmers who were harvesting crops from their rice fields.
“They did not use guns to kill them, instead they used cutlasses and knives to stab them to death, while others were beheaded,” Haruna said.
He said 15 farmers were confirmed killed in the attack, adding that some managed to escape. The number of those missing is still unknown….

Nigeria’s Shia Muslims were an early target of Sunni Boko Haram. In recent years BH factions have fought eash other, or (for a fee), killed rivals of local bigwigs.
In 2020 they took one hell of a beating from Isis.
As Christians retreat from the north and centre, I assume the herdsmen will increasingly kill Muslims of different vocations, locations, sect, tribe, class….

This is misleading. For your information, the fulani herdsmen are not killing Muslims but Christians. If you hear any such narrative in the news, it is a calculated attempt to twist the narrative and silence the Christians. It’s all lies, trust me. We know that ethnic cleansing is what is going on there and the govt is colluding. That’s the reason the Fulanis, after killing the people, settle and occupy the region unchallenged by the military.
