  2. There are a lot of verses where the God of Israel has His prophets tell the Israelites what is going to befall them if they keep up their lawless disobedience. (There were kings like Ahab, Manasseh, and others who led the nation astray)
    Giving them the Land flowing with milk and honey, “a very, very good land,” was not a threat, but a promise. A promise He kept.

    It has to do with Biblical Prophecy.For Christians the Parousia begins in Jerusalem.
    Christians also believe Zechariah,Daniel,Ezekiel,Joel.
    Jews are waiting for the Messiach who already..and won’t be..but never mind.
    The Prophecies will be fulfilled

    That the world wants to destroy Israel is in Zechariah.
    On the surface people talk about zionism etc but that has nothing to do with Biblical Prophecy.

    ISRAEL has a much deeper meaning to it.It is God’s Rubicon.

  8. I’ll admit to not being familiar w/ the Torah, but couldn’t they have picked a portion that says absolutely nothing about the land of Israel?

    • They picked the weekly parshah (Torah portion). I would say G-d made sure they tripped up.

  9. Here is the problem. In America, antisemitism is coming from the left. Jews vote 80 percent with the left. Left wing Jews are giving all Jews a bad name. Its not fair to blame the 20 percent of Jews that dont vote with the left. Sadly, I dont have the time or patience to count cars. It falls on the non leftist 20 percent to make their voices heard against the leftist 80 percent who are giving them a bad name. They wont be alone, our side will stand with them. The 20 percent cant just stand around waiting like Jews did in Europe way back in the 30’s and 40’s. The left have taught us that playing nice doesn’t work with them so forget about doing that.

    Oh and one last thing, President Trump is Hitler, sez the left.

      • I have been saying it here for nearly two decades. The left is a loose coalition of opposing groups. The coalition was bound to come undone. All that was needed was a primer and now there is one. More to come I would say. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving coalition of nasty witless people.

    • There is a tradition that when the Israelites left Egypt, 4/5ths (80%) got left behind.
      I can see the same thing happening now. Unfortunate, but you can lead a donkey (symbol of the Democrats) to Torah, but you can’t make him (or her, or it) think.

        • I first heard it when I listened to Matisyahy “Got No Water”, but when researching the lyrics, I found:
          There is a tradition that among the Israelites in Egypt were sinners who did not want to leave. They wanted to stay in Egypt. They could not stay, because G d had promised Abraham that his descendants would leave. Thus, they had to die, and this could not be seen by the Egyptians, lest they say G d brought the same plagues upon Israel. They died during the plague of Darkness, and were buried during the time the Egyptians could not see. (Midrash, Bo, 14:3,) The percentage, 4/5ths, comes from Rashi (p. 146). The Torah says the Israelites left armed (chamushin, חמשים), which Rashi says can be understood as being derived from chamishah, חמשה, which means five. Since vowels are a late innovation in Hebrew, there are many cases where Torah interpretation relies on subtle differences between words. Rashi states that in this sense, it means that only 1/5th left Egypt; the others died there.

      • I have a cousin who converted to Judaism. She is proud of her liberal Democratic politics. She does not understand it is the liberals who want to destroy Israel. The liberal policies are more important to her than Jewish safety.
        She votes democrat even thou they despise any degree of religion. I guess she would be considered a conservative Jew because she practices the religious services.
