Maybe rioting isn’t the effective persuasion tool leftists think it is?
Maybe running around, smashing things and defacing monuments, including sacred ones, aren’t the effective persuasion tools that Islamists and leftists think they are?
In October, the leftists and Islamists were touting a YouGov poll in which 58% of Brits said that there definitely should be a ceasefire and 18% said that there probably should be.
Current numbers are less enthusiastic with only 33% urging a push for a ceasefire.
Now granted these are YouGov polls, which are not exactly the height of scientific polling, and they don’t ask quite the same questions, but there’s still a diminution in enthusiasm for saving Hamas that seems counterintuitive. Normally last month should have been the highest level of support for taking out Hamas with the numbers getting worse from there.
And it’s not as if there’s a groundswell of support for Israel, but there’s distinctly less enthusiasm for a ceasefire.
What could have brought that one?
Let’s see, maybe it was Islamists and leftists running wild while the Met Police let them get away with it and arrested anyone who stood up to them?
After weeks of screaming about a ceasefire while wrecking things, a ceasefire became actually less popular.

Israeli PM said in an address to UN; asking Israel for a ceasefire is the same as asking Israel to surrender to Hamas.
Hamas has committed human rights violations against Jewish people following their unannounced attack against Israel. All hostages taken by Hamas need to be released unharmed.

Two members of the dsa have quit the group over the lack of such ones as aoc, cesar, tlaib, bush, etc. condemning hamas. One of those who quit was a founding member.
Perhaps more people are actually waking up to the idea that islam isn’t such a great thing to support.

I think the riots were in part meant as threats, not simple persuasion

ABSOLUTELY, and the large shift indicates that they were perceived that way.

Good to hear this news. So the average, decent people are not impressed by the demos by the Muslim scum and their left wing mates. I know that the hamas attack and total degeneracy of their behaviour and these demos by Muslims and their supporters in countries everywhere has made me loathe islam and its followers and their supporters even more than I previously did. And, of course, a ceasefire would be playing right into the hands of the hamas scum. Glad to see that these demos by the disgusting, vicious scum are counterproductive.

1. If there is a ceasefire most of the hostages will be released and Hamas will escape and some well prepared plan to attack Israel will be triggered. This is the trap that Hamas expects Israel to fall into, helped along by the weeping of parents and the shaking heads of Heads of State and their “concerned” diplomats.
2. If there is no ceasefire Hamas and most of the hostages will be killed. Netanyahu will be reviled by some Israelis. But Netanyahu will stoically live with his decision. Israel will survive and be hated still but they are used to that.
3. Pro-Hamas will still celebrate the slaughter of 10/7 as some kind of victory. But Gaza is not Marathon. There will be no Acropolis.

These are the same idiots who say that two-thirds of “successful” revolutions are peaceful.
They are children. All the “adults in the room” talk is projection. They can’t even figure out if terrorism is always a bad thing.
Let’s hope it’s the impetus of change that we so desperately need.
