The area of dispute between India and Pakistan — the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir — has often been compared to the disputed territories in Israel and the Jewish state’s fight for its own existence against the Palestinians. In this case, Pakistan violated a ceasefire and fired on India’s border guard.
It is common to see reports in the news about the breaking of ceasefires on the Islamic side. One reason for this is because no amount of land will satisfy Islamic supremacists and their well-documented and historic expansionary ambitions. They want complete conquest of the various regions in which there is conflict today. They failed to conquer India and Israel, so the jihad against both continues; the propaganda war is part of that.
“Pakistan Violates Ceasefire In Jammu, 2 Security Forces Personnel Injured,” NDTV, October 18, 2023:
Srinagar: Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire along the Arnia sector of Jammu, in which two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were injured, the BSF said. Two BSF personnel were injured after Pakistan Rangers “resorted to unprovoked firing” on border guards along the International Border (IB), it said.
The Pakistan Rangers opened fire around 8.15 am on Tuesday on the troops at the Vikram post in the Arnia sector, following which the BSF jawans fired in retaliation, the BSF said in a statement.
This is the first major incident of ceasefire violation after the February 2021 ceasefire understanding between India and the Pakistan army.
The injured men have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital. The doctors said their condition is “stable”.
“On 17 Oct 2023 at about 2015 hrs, the Pak Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing towards BSF troops which was befittingly retaliated by alert BSF troops in Arnia Sector. Two BSF personnel received bullet injuries who have been immediately provided medical assistance,” the BSF said in a statement.
India and Pakistan signed a ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021, in which both nations agreed to strictly observe all agreements on ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and other sectors.
In another incident, the BSF on Tuesday arrested a Pakistani national who crossed the international border and entered Indian territory inadvertently in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, news agency ANI reported….

Jammu, rather than Kashmir! Note that this area of the state is Hindu, not muslim: Pakistan’s claim on the state is usually based on the fact that the majority of the state is muslim. I agree w/ Ankur Sharma (a local Jammu leader and also the head of a new party in India called Ekam Sanatan Bharat) that Jammu needs to be separated from Kashmir and made into a new state in India, while Kashmir needs to be split into a homeland for Kashmiri Pundits and the rest for local muslims
