Turkey: Pro-Erdogan newspaper runs article entitled ‘Why did Allah curse the Jews?’

This article discusses these Qur’an verses:

“And they say, Our hearts are hardened. No, but Allah has cursed them for their unbelief, so little is what they believe.” (2:88)

“They will be stricken with disgrace wherever they are found, except for a rope from Allah and a rope from men. They have brought on anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them. That is because they used to disbelieve the signs of Allah, and killed the prophets wrongfully. That is because they were rebellious and used to transgress. They are not all alike. Of the people of the book there is a devout community that recites the signs of Allah in the night, falling prostrate.” (3:112-3)

“O you to whom the book has been given, believe in what we have revealed, confirming what you have, before we destroy faces so as to turn them around, or curse them as we cursed the Sabbath-breakers. The commandment of Allah is always carried out.” (4:47)

“The Jews say, Allah’s hand is chained. Their hands are chained and they are cursed for saying this. No, but both his hands are spread out wide in bounty. He bestows it as he wills. What has been revealed to you from your Lord is certain to increase the insolence and disbelief of many of them, and we have sown enmity and hatred among them until the day of resurrection. As often as they light a fire for war, Allah extinguishes it. Their effort is for corruption on the earth, and Allah does not love corrupters.” (5:64)

These are just a fraction of the large number of antisemitic verses in the Qur’an. The purpose of publishing this piece on Thursday was clearly to stir up further hatred against Israel, and to portray Hamas’ massacre of Israeli civilians as a righteous act, bringing the wrath of Allah upon his enemies.

The Holy Quran informs us that man was created in the most beautiful form, then he was brought down to the lowest, but those who believe and do good deeds are excluded from this. For this reason, Allah sent Prophet Muhammad to show the right path. From Adam to the Prophet Muhammad. He sent many prophets and holy books until Muhammad. Despite this, many societies ignored what was conveyed to them, and for this reason, they were cursed by God and disappeared from the stage of history. The stories describing such topics correspond to approximately one-third of the Holy Quran, and almost more than half of these stories are about the Israelites and the questions they asked. Some of these bets are about the blessings given to the Jews: water gushing from stones in the desert, quails and manna being sent down from the sky, prophets being sent from their descendants, books being given to them, and them being knowledgeable people are among these blessings….

In the following verses, the Quran explains that it curses the Jews both in this world and the afterlife due to some of their characteristics. The Israelites, to whom many prophets were sent, rebelled against them and even killed some of them. They worshiped the calf instead of Allah, who saved them from the oppression of Pharaoh by parting the Red Sea. They again refused to enter the holy land promised to them. The Jews in the time of the Prophet, on the other hand, hid the truth revealed to them due to reasons such as fear of losing property and wealth and anxiety about social status. For this reason, they deserved God’s curse. Let’s look at some examples of the descriptions of the Israelites/Jews in the Quran, whose rebellion and denial are described in many verses….
