Israel is indeed “confronting the Muslim fighters,” which means that Israel is confronting Hamas. It is Hamas, backed by Iran, that uses its own people as human shields to create the illusion that Israel is killing innocent civilians. Israel routinely warns Palestinians to evacuate the area before a strike, but Hamas blocks them, in effect intentionally causing the deaths of their own people precisely in order to blame Israel in its ongoing propaganda war.
Also, although Israel would be justified in revenge considering the unprovoked savagery against citizens by Hamas, the reason for the war is to stop HAMAS jihadists from repeating their ISIS-like attack on Israel and worse. It is a defensive war. Khamenei’s propaganda works as intentioned on the pro-Palestinian lobby.

To add to your point divided india took a country for themselves (Pakistan and Bangladesh).
