France: Muslim migrant who stayed in the country after being ordered deported mimes shooting in front of synagogue

An illegal migrant was arrested for “glorification of terrorism” and “remaining on the territory despite an obligation to leave French territory” (OQTF), and placed in police custody, in Sarcelles, in Val-d’Oise, this Thursday October 19, according to our information.

Around 10 p.m., the 25-year-old individual, Muhammad Hassan, mimed a shooting in front of the city’s large synagogue, a police source told Valeurs Acteulles. The prefect decided to place him in the administrative detention center (CRA) of Mesnil-Amelot with a view to expulsion.

Nicknamed “Little Jerusalem”, Sarcelles is home to nearly 15,000 Jews, or a quarter of the town’s population of 60,000 inhabitants. After the attack by Hamas terrorists against Israel on October 7, the Jewish community is facing an increase in anti-Semitic acts.

Three days after the Hamas offensive, Gérald Darmanin and Gabriel Attal went to the Ozar-Hatorah Jewish school in Sarcelles, to provide support to the community. After speaking with Patrick Haddad, the elected representative of the town, the Minister of the Interior announced to set up “an increased police and gendarme presence around both places of worship and Jewish schools” of Teals.

Since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, the Minister of the Interior indicated that “more than 2,000” anti-Semitic reports had been recorded across France by Pharos, the online hate reporting platform.
