Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has praised a London mosque as a “place of peace, hope and solidarity” after the JC revealed it had hosted an antisemitic hate preacher.

Last week, the JC reported that Finsbury Park Mosque had hosted an Egyptian imam, Omar Abdelkafi, who pledged to “liberate” Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem from the “filth of the Jews”.

Abdelkafi is also on record quoting from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious antisemitic forgery that claims Jews seek to dominate the world.

The north-London mosque’s general secretary, Mohammed Kozbar, has described Abdelkafi as “our beloved preacher”.

Posting on the platform previously known as Twitter, Corbyn said: “Finsbury Park Mosque offers a place of peace, hope and solidarity to so many people in our community.

From what I read in the Koran, with its obsessive and murderous level of hatred towards all non-believers, that is very unislamic. islam is full of nothing but endless hatred towards any people who are not part of the stinking, evil religion, islam. Also they say that the media is sowing hatred and fear. No, that is islam. islam is all about hate and the Koran also calls for Muslims to terrorise the non-believers. The usual lying from the Muslims at the mosque. A moron like Corbyn and many other people will, no doubt, buy the lies. Some people will never wake up and face reality.

  7. Many mosques have become places for various crime like rape, kidnap, torture or arsenal storehouse in addition to the center for spreading hate and evil teaching. It is not a “place of peace” at all.

  9. Corbyn needs to be in a discussion with someone like late Chris Hitchins, Bill Warner or Richard Dawkins. Even the much derided Tommy Robinson could educate Corbyn about Islam.
