Israeli police understand that in these times, guns enable law-abiding citizens to defend themselves. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the Biden regime is avid to find ways to disarm the populace. Interesting contrast.
“Police urge gun owners to carry at synagogue as terror alerts spike at High Holidays,” Times of Israel, September 19, 2023:
Police on Monday encouraged licensed gun owners to carry their weapons to synagogues over the High Holiday period, as the security establishment registered a rise in terror alerts in the lead-up to the Yom Kippur fast day.
Police said in a statement that there has been a 15 percent increase in terror warnings compared to the two months before the holidays and that security forces were at a heightened alert level due to the threats.
Licensed gun owners were urged “to carry their gun in these times.”
The police statement said the number of alerts will likely rise further in the lead-up to Yom Kippur, which begins on Sunday evening.
“Therefore, we call on worshipers who have licensed gun to bring them to prayers. In addition, we call on the public in general to be aware and report any unusual incident in real-time to the police 100 hotline,” the statement read….

A major difference between the U.S. and Israel is that the vast majority of adult Israelis have been trained in the military and most are in the military reserve.
Another major difference is in the mind set. Notwithstanding the ability to carry arms (sometimes even mandated) there are far, far fewer gun deaths per capita in Israel than in the U.S.

Israels population in 2023 is listed as just over 9 million. The USA has cities much bigger than that. Israel is a bit like a USA county. Not really apples and oranges but perhaps watermelons and peanuts. History shows that Americans and their guns dont really need military training until the military needs us. Add to that the fact that if we take away a certain very small demographic from the gun death equation and we eliminate over a third of gun related deaths in America.
