The idea that Israel will self-destruct comes from a Qur’an passage that is generally understood to describe the Muslims’ defeat of the Jewish Nadir tribe of Medina: “It is he who has caused those among the people of the book who disbelieved to go forth from their homes to the first exile. You did not think that they would go forth, while they thought that their strongholds would protect them from Allah. But Allah reached them from a place they did not expect, and cast terror in their hearts so that they ruined their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn a lesson, O you who have eyes.” (Qur’an 59:2)
Note that this idea that the Infidels would destroy themselves is also found in the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan for the U.S.: “The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious

Only between us, I can confirm that the Arbaeen [Pilgrimage] at that time will be extraordinarily glorious, and will get worldwide attention. Who will we face at the final war? The Hejaz. Saudi Arabia, which is the America of the Arabian [Peninsula]… This will lead to the conquest of the main Qibla and the Hidden Imam will reappear there.
“Since they know this, they have snipers all around the Masjid Al-Haram. The Leader [Khamenei] said this somewhere, but never repeated it. He said that it was not a problem that the Saudis are buying lots of weapons, because these weapons will be captured by the mujahideen.”

Further proof that Islam can’t compete with the West in the modern era because every Islamic politician and cleric claims to have some prophetic power and leadership that undermines a common purpose. Muhammad crippled Islam by not defining the succession method, leaving it to warfare.
The Sunnis and Shia are Islam’s equivalent of the Christian world’s Catholics and Protestants but not as far along in civility with each other as the West. How any sane Western business would want to work with Islam makes no economic sense. Let the Chinese learn a lesson by experience.
