Erdogan: ‘Instead of Islamophobia, we need to make mutual respect and a culture of coexistence prevail’

By “mutual respect and a culture of coexistence,” Erdogan means the West’s abandonment of the freedom of expression and submission to Sharia blasphemy laws.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday called on the leaders of MIKTA, a partnership between Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Türkiye, and Australia, to unite against the growing threat of Islamophobia.

“The increase and spread of hostility towards Islam along with international terrorism is worrying. These negative developments have reminded us again that we need more solidarity, more understanding of each other and tolerance,” Erdogan said at a meeting with MIKTA leaders….

“As injustices in the global system grow, the ability of international organizations to produce solutions to these problems is, unfortunately, decreasing,” Erdogan said, adding this situation further increases responsibility in resolving conflicts through peaceful means to build a more just world, and to ensure multilateralism.

“Instead of hate crimes, discrimination, Islamophobia and xenophobia, we need to make mutual respect and a culture of coexistence prevail.

“It is unacceptable that the most sacred values of 2 billion people are allowed to be attacked almost every day under the guise of freedom of expression. We believe that everyone who respects humanity, regardless of their religion, should object to this,” he added….

  3. Anyone, like Erdogan, seriously bringing up the matter of Islamophobia should never be taken seriously.

    Such lesser human beings are either demonstrating their ignorance or their deceit (in Erdogan’s case it is clearly the latter). Whichever, such people will never advance the cause of mankind, let alone the truth per se.

    • You left out Cyprus, as well as Erdogan horning in on the rights of Kurds, Assyrians and Yazidis not in Turkey, but in Syria & Iraq, which are none of his business.

      Oh, & also horning in on maritime oil resources of the East Mediterranean, violating the rights of Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel & Egypt

    er dog a wan is one of the main culprits who have been guilty of “injustices,” toward other people…in his own country and in others.

    Since there is no such thing as the phobia of islam-o, there is nothing to be done about it. But, since mozlums are guilty of most, if not all, of the terrorism in the world today….increasing it daily….then he should be talking to his fellow mozlums if he doesn’t like it. This mozlum terrorist and dictator, claiph wannabee, he should be looking in his own mirror for the guilty perp.

  8. What a load of complete bullshit. “Mutual respect” towards non-Muslims and islam do not ever go together, they never have and never will. Anyone who reads the Koran and the endless, unmitigated hatred that that evil book expresses towards non-believers, even calling for Muslims to murder the non-believers, knows that islam preaches nothing but hate towards non-Muslims and has no concept of letting non-Muslims live peacefully and giving them “mutual respect’. Because of its foul attitude towards non-Muslims, islam deserves to receive zero respect in return. islam deserves as much respect as Nazism. The mutual respect and tolerance would be one way. And I don’t see islam ever changing that basic hatred towards non-Muslims. The Koran, their guide to life, ensures that that hate will always continue.

      • Exactly, Michael. The Koran seemed to me to be nothing but a manual of obsessive, neverending hate towards the non-Muslims. The idea of islam showing “mutual respect” to anybody who is not a Muslim is complete garbage.

  14. Erdogan needs to respect Christians and other religions himself before he starts preaching about others respecting islam. ISLAMOPHOBIA is nothing but a propaganda tool to coverup the violence and hate taught by islamic leaders such as Erdogan.

  15. He would sound more credible if he said we should unite to fight Anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity, anti Westernism, mass migration of anti-Western peoples into the West. But of course he is only for tolerance of one movement, the one he wants to destroy the West.
