There probably is little difference between the UN’s goals and the LGBTQ agenda, but Erdogan’s rage is another indication of the breakdown of the Leftist/Islamic alliance.
“Erdoğan mistakes colors representing UN goals for LGBTQ flags: report,” Turkish Minute, September 22, 2023:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan complained on Thursday that he was uncomfortable with the use of what he described as “LGBT colors” at the United Nations, which is decorated this week with bright colors promoting the Sustainable Development Goals, Reuters reported.
Erdoğa [sic] said he would have liked to discuss it with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Turkish media reported on Thursday. Turkey’s government — led by Erdoğan and his Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party — has toughened its stance on LGBTQ freedoms.
“One of the issues that bothers me the most … is that when entering the United Nations General Assembly, you see the LGBT colors on steps and other places,” Erdoğan was quoted as saying by broadcaster Habertürk and others.
“How many LGBT are there in the world right now? However much right they have on these steps, those against LGBT have as much right as well,” said Erdoğan, who has frequently labeled members of the LGBTQ community as “deviants” and particularly toughened his rhetoric during his election campaign this year.
However, some UN diplomats suggested Erdoğan might have confused the 17 different colors associated with the Sustainable Development Goals — and decorating parts of UN headquarters, including steps, for a summit that was held earlier this week — with the rainbow Pride colors associated with LGBTQ rights….

I’m surprised that a guy like Erdogan, who sees the world in black and white, even noticed a rainbow-coloured flag!

Slight breakdown. You’ll still find the most staunch supporters of Islam on the left. You can be sure if/when there is an a major Islamic terrorist attack the leftoids will be out and about with their “STOP ISLAMOPHOBIA!” signs and almost every politician and news program will dust off their “religion of peace” and “tiny minority of extremists” song sheet.

I do wish the ? could be reclaimed by normal people to represent something actually beautiful and normal, rather than men attracted to other men or women attracted to other women. Sorry, I know that there are LGB people allied against the TQI part of this “coalition”, but I have never, and will never, reconcile myself to marriage. Even when the bulk of the country was against it, I was fine w/ civil unions, though most were not, for correct reasons: the “slippery slope argument” is not a logical fallacy but a trend line. However, I was willing to accept civil unions, but stop at that, and not recognize gay marriage. Maybe take government out of marriage recognition altogether?
Back on this Turkey thing, it is funny. But on a serious note, Turkey is quietly becoming the new Germany of the 1930s, while everybody is wrongly obsessed about Russia, and rightly about China. I can see Turkey destroy not just Armenia, but a post-regime Iran, which was in medieval times a part of various Turkic empires. And then an attempt to reconquer Arab lands – Syria to Yemen to Libya. You think Russia is a problem, wait until that happens

Thanks for telling me, or implying, I’m not “normal”.
Maybe you didn’t know, every human being is a unique creation by God.
There is no such thing as “normal”.
But you want to impose your idea of what is normal on everybody else.

And the rainbow, we can take it back from the alphabet group. The rainbow has so many different meanings in different cultures. We need to promote them more.

The rainbow in the sky is God’s signature, the promise that never again will the flood waters cover the earth. Using the rainbow of color for any other purpose is forgery (and He doesn’t like that practice).

Every time it rains, a rainbow appears. When looking at waterfalls when the sun is shining, one can see a beautiful rainbow.
The Bible says that God gave the rainbow to signify His promise never to bring another earth-wide flood that would destroy almost all life on earth. He told mankind that every time we see a rainbow appear in the clouds, we are to remember that promise.
However, though He will not use a flood earth wide to destroy an evil world, He has also promised that He will cleanse the earth of those who flaunt their evil.
” The nations raged….and your wrath came…and “‘I will bring to ruin those ruining the earth.'” Revelation 11:18
Both the perverts who have made such headway in taking the world back to the things destroyed in Sodom and Gomorrah, and the mozlums who have returned much of the world to the practices of the Canaanites and Philistines, are “ruining” the earth for normal, honest, moral people.
The U.N. is heavily mozlum;
Members have also fought to have perverts welcomed in the world’s society….such as the U.S pressuring other governments to accept homosexuality as ‘normal’ and funding the murder of the unborn.
Using the colors of the rainbow for either group, won’t save them from Divine Justice.
Rarely says
How tolerant of you.
somehistory says
If that was meant as an insult, I don’t see it as one. I don’t “tolerate evil”…in anyone of any “stripe” or color. I’m guessing that, by your comment, you do.
Furthermore, and more importantly, I am going on what the Bible and my God has said. I didn’t make those decisions or issue those promises.
Rarely says
How wise of you not to “tolerate evil”… in anyone of any :stripe” or color.
Wish it was simply a matter of black and white but unfortunately it’s most often gray.
Thankfully, I’m rarely called upon to pass judgement and all too often when I do I get it wrong. I must regularly remind myself that G’d didn’t go on vacation and leave me in charge.
For example, I don’t simply tolerate gays, I accept them. BUT I am very much opposed to teaching young children about sex, sex options and gender identity — at least outside the knowledge and approval of their parents. We didn’t have children just turn them over to the state to feed them the garbage line of the day.
somehistory says
For once, I can agree with your comment…at least a part of it.
First, I get what “wisdom” I have from the Bible….which tells all who read it to “acquire wisdom.”
the Bible says to “hate what is bad,” and hating it, I can’t “tolerate” it.
And, you are right ….God hasn’t gone on “vacation” and left the judging to any of us. So, if we follow what Jesus said about “rotten trees producing rotten fruit,” and “wolves in sheep’s clothing,” and “do not give what is holy to dogs or throw pearls before swine.” then we will be “wise” and not “tolerate” the things God “does hate,”….at least Seven are the things He hates….for a list, they can be found in the Book of Proverbs.
I am one who just does not take things into my own hands when it comes to ***passing Judgment*** and murdering others because t see their “fruit is rotten,” or that they are “wolves” pretending to be sheep.
If by “accepting” you mean that you don’t try to hurt them, okay. I’ve worked with them, but I refused to listen to their talk about their personal and intimate habits…which they often tried to share with me as they shared them with each other.
I have no friends who are homosexual and do not wish to. if that offends someone, that’s not something I can change, because I firmly believe what the Bible says about it. And my own personal feelings are in agreement with the Bible.
And, I can’t be insulted into making that change. No more than I can be “phobied” into accepting islam.

I don’t know exactly what you think the LGBTQ+ Agenda is anyway? Was there a meeting I missed? As a person who identifies as gay I resent being lumped in with those who are labeled as leftist. I strongly support Israel, the Jewish diaspora, and the Armenian people in their ongoing efforts to combat genocide. I pray daily for persecuted Christians throughout the world who are confronted by Islamist and various world dictators. I personally see the UN as a being an instrument, that by degrees, is leading to a world of misery and woe.
