Pakistan: Christian accused of blaspheming Qur’an, Muslim mob ransacks and burns churches and Christian homes

Just the accusation is enough. No proof is needed. This is what would be happening in Sweden and Denmark these days if there were sufficient numbers present to form such mobs.

“Pakistan: Mob Attacks, Vandalise Churches Over Blasphemy Allegations In Faisalabad; Visuals Surface,” Free Press Journal, August 16, 2023:

Lahore, August 16: Several churches were vandalised in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Wednesday over blasphemy allegations, officials said. The Salvation Army Church, United Presbyterian Church, Allied Foundation Church and Shehroonwala Church situated in the Isa Nagri area in the Jaranwala district of Faisalabad were ransacked, Imran Bhatti, the pastor of the Jaranwala tehsil, was quoted as saying by Dawn.com.

Bhatti added that the house of a Christian cleaner, who was accused of blasphemy, was also demolished. Punjab police chief Usman Anwar said the police were negotiating with the protesters and the area had been cordoned off.

“There are narrow lanes (in the area) in which small two to three marla churches are located and there is one main church … they have vandalised portions of the churches,” Anwar was quoted as saying by Dawn.com.

The official said that efforts were underway to contain the situation by engaging with peace committees and police across the province were activated. “The assistant commissioner of the area, a member of the Christian community, has also been evacuated after people turned against him,” Anwar added. However, Christian leaders alleged that the police remained silent spectators.

President Bishop of the Church of Pakistan Azad Marshall said that “Bibles have been desecrated and Christians have been tortured and harassed having been falsely accused of violating the Holy Quran”….

Former senator Afrasiab Khattak condemned the incident and demanded that the culprits should be brought to book.

“Pakistani state has failed to provide security to the worship places of people who follow religions other than Islam. Impunity to the crimes committed in the name of religion has emboldened extremists and terrorists,” he added….

  1. Somewhat unrelated, I’ve seen some conservatives on Twitter and elsewhere speak out against Imran Khan’s arrest and banning him from contesting future Paki elections, and equating that to Trump. While it is true that Imran Khan wanting Pakistan to be neutral in the US-Russia tiff is identical to India’s – which is the one thing he praised India about, these conservatives are ignoring his jihadist tendencies

    Even before he became prime minister, he used to speak out against US operations in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. He happened to only coincidentally agree w/ Trump on ending military ops in Afghanistan: Trump wanted it b’cos we weren’t getting anything by remaining there, whereas Imran wanted it b’cos he wanted both Afghanistan & Pakistan to be zones where shariah was freely enforced. The Tehreek-e-Taliban, which is now working against the Pak regime, was not doing that during Imran’s time

    Also, this persecution of Christians, Hindus and Sikhs was as prevalent under Imran as it is now. To them, it makes no difference who is PM. Similarly, the US may topple any regime, but there is no regime in Pak that would be pro-US and anti-China, since any Pak regime has to be anti-India, which is where the suzerainty of Beijing comes in

      • It was a curse the way it was implemented, but had it been done as originally proposed – all muslims to Pakistan and all non-muslims to India, it would have been a blessing. But while all non-muslims left Pakistan, most muslims remained in India. I recently saw someone remark that had partition gone as planned, India might have gone on to be a first world country like Japan, while Pakistan would have been a country like Somalia. I doubt the former b’cos in addition to keeping its muslims, India was also socialist for a good 50 years

    Jesus said His followers would be hated and persecuted, even to death. There is currently a lot of proof for His accuracy in this prophecy. He called the devil, “The thief,” and said he “comes to steal, kill and destroy.” He said that the devil’s children would be ‘doing the desires of their father.” Plenty of proof this is also happening.

  3. Whenever see footage of enrage, IE; normal Mudslimes, it always reminds me of the scenes from the planet of the apes movies where the apes are going into a frenzy, the only difference is clothing.
    Their behaviour is not that dissimilar from that of wild animals. Of course this then poses the question of how anyone can make the claim of islam being a “religion of peace”?

  4. The ongoing violence against Christians only gives a black eye to the governments of both Pakistan and India. However the governments of both do little to stop the violence. Both hate Christians and would destroy them if they could.
    Increasingly, American leftists and religious extremists of Muslim and Hindu faiths all have the same common interest…death to Christianity.

    • It is the opposite Christians and muslims hand in glove with communist lefts when it comes to Hinduism as their common interest is death to Hinduism.

      • True Christians do not persecute or try to kill anyone. There is no “common interest” with mozlums.
        there may be some misguided fools who claim Christianity and work to destroy other’s religion, but they are not acting on what Jesus commanded; nor are they following His example.
        this has been discussed before because you seem to oppose Christians as much as you oppose mozlums being in your country.
        Perhaps some feel that animosity from you toward them?

        • Devasur is a lying hindutva ideologue. The hindutva mobs are burning and destroying churches in Manipur not the Christians. They paraded Christian women naked and gangraped them. It’s not the Christians doing this. However hindutva is less extreme than islam. The Christian persecution in Indian is very real

      • Don’t trust devasur. Check his Twitter feed. Yes you want the death of Christianity because rational people are leaving your religion just like they are living islam. They recognize islam and mystical spiritualism as false and your hindutva superiority feels threatened

  5. All it takes is an accusation to have Muslims wreck havoc on non Muslims, no need to know if it is true or false. This is Islam in true form as the Imam’s teach that truth does not matter only destruction upon the non Muslims for an accusation or false word, this is true anywhere in the world where Muslims populate just look at France and its Muslim hordes destroying the cities. Muslims also destroy when another Muslim is accused of a crime and arrested.
