A bunch of lawyers should know better than to condemn something without defining it. The term “Islamophobia” is an illegitimate conflation of two distinct phenomena: vigilante attacks against innocent Muslims, which are never justified, and honest analysis of the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which is always necessary. The objective of this conflation is to silence that analysis by falsely claiming that it leads to or causes those attacks. The fact that an unsavory gang of thugs such as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is thrilled over this ought to be a warning sign to the ABA that they’re on the wrong track, but of course it will not be.

The largest body of lawyers in the United States has passed a resolution condemning Islamophobia and calling on Congress and the United Nations to implement similar resolutions combating anti-Muslim sentiment.
The American Bar Association (ABA)’s House of Delegates passed the resolution on Tuesday during a two-day session looking at a host of new policies and resolutions.
“RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal governments in the United States to condemn Islamophobia and to develop and implement comprehensive strategies to combat Islamophobia,” the resolution stated.
The recommended strategies mentioned in the resolution include creating awareness campaigns to educate Americans about Islam and Muslims and also new mechanisms for reporting incidents of Islamophobia and hate crimes.
The resolution also urges US Congress to adopt a bill introduced by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to establish an office in the State Department that monitors Islamophobia – similar to the one that exists for monitoring antisemitism….
Over the past decade, there have been several major attacks on Muslim populations living in western countries, including a shooting at a mosque in Quebec, Canada, and a mass shooting at two New Zealand mosques that killed more than 50 Muslim worshippers.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, which has tracked and worked on issues of hate crimes against Muslims in the US, commended the ABA’s adoption of the measure.
“We welcome this resolution against Islamophobia by the largest voluntary association of lawyers in the world and the nation’s leading legal association, and hope the steps suggested by the resolution will be adopted by state and national policymakers,” Edward Ahmed Mitchell, the organisation’s national deputy director, said in a statement….

After studying the Bible for many years, I understand the “love your enemies” to mean we do no harm to them, even knowing how much they hate us. “love **your** enemies. So they are our enemies…meaning we don’t really want to associate with them, have reasons to consider them our enemies, and feel “enmity” at the idea that they want us dead.
There is the principled love…which God and His Son have for those who turn away and commit errors intentionally. they hope these ones turn back.
There is brotherly love…affection like we have for family and friends. Jesus has this for His disciples. And God has for His obedient children.
There is romantic love.
The first of these is what we are commanded to have. for our enemies.
We don’t need to show affection for them; just do no harm. We may engage in self-defense, but we don’t do as they do and intentionally hurt them.
Anyway, that is the way I understand it. Jesus said be like our Father in Heaven….and He will severely punish them for what they are doing in lying, raping and murdering others.
We don’t Judge or punish. But we recognize their fruit is rotten.

The reason why they have trouble defining islamophobia is because they in the process of redefine the word, like they did with the word vaccine.
A phobia is an irrational fear and the classic definition of islamophobia is an irrational fear of Islam. The problem is that much of the fear of Islam is rationally based on the large number of followers of Islam murdering, head chopping, maiming, intolerance, etc. of non Muslims based on their Islamic creeds all over the world in many nations.. Therefore they are trying to change the definition to include rational fears of Islam and aversion or dislike. If they don’t want to exclude rational fears then they should drop the word phobia.
