it’s this simple. they used to farm sugar cane and pineapples’ They stopped the farming. A non indigenous grass grew. They had a cool wet spring and the grass grew. then the dry season those grasses dried up

The reason sugarcane & pineapple farming stopped was that demand for sugar has dropped precipitously, since it’s now associated w/ health risks. Sugar was a great thing in the pre-industrial eras, when most labor was manual. Once a whole lot of labor started getting automated, be it on assembly lines or elsewhere, people stopped needing all that extra energy, and then continuing to have all that extra sugar was counterproductive
Just like in California, one needed forest management to do controlled burns to get rid of the tinder grass, I’m sure similar stuff might have been needed in Hawaii

I normally agree w/ most of what Daniel says, but I do disagree w/ him on one thing
There was no ONE “first” man. Every continent/island would have had somebody who originated there, whether he evolved from the apes, or actually appeared. Yeah, Biblical texts have Adam, Puranic texts have Manu and so on but it’s a fair assumption that there would have been someone who first “appeared” (evolved/created) in most land out there – be it South America, Africa, Asia, Europe,….
So Hawaii probably did have somebody who originated there, as opposed to sail there in a boat (which couldn’t have travelled thousands of miles in the ancient, prehistoric era when man was evolving). Of course, that doesn’t mean that they should have a discriminatory system if they are in one country
I do wonder whether there is a case for just unbundling Hawaii from the US. Only reason I can think of retaining them is geopolitics: to ward off China. But the day China gets defanged, does it still make sense to keep Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other territories like Guam under the US, rather than spin them off as independent, sovereign nations?

It’s doubtful that anyone ‘originated’ in Hawaii, given its geology. It’s a chain of volcanic islands. The islands were formed one by one as the tectonic plates which support the Pacific Ocean moved over a ‘hot spot’.
I’ve read that some of the first people to inhabit Hawaii came from other Pacific islands, such as Tahiti. I don’t know how we would ‘unbundle’ Hawaii, since it was granted statehood.
There have been many species of humans, such as Neanderthal and Homo Erectus. Homo sapiens (modern humans) left Africa and moved around the globe, mostly in Eurasia. One theory is that those who settled in the Americas may have come across a land bridge from Siberia and made their way south and across the continents.

Murder or manslaughter? In either case deliberate malfeasance by democrat officials. Entire families incinerated. Many children missing. Barriers put up to keep people in. Water turned off. This is your community with democrat officials in charge. The officials failed to keep the non native invasive grass in check. Blame climate change! Doing that assures people that more preventable terrible tragedies will occur in the future. But dont worry, democrats believe they can change the weather. When we are all riding around in covered wagons and living by candlelight we will all be safe. But will we, I have my well founded doubts. Progressive progress!
Democrats want to vacuum up carbon, which to them is a menace, on our carbon based planet. What is next on their list, water? The majority of pollution comes from 85 percent of the world outside of the west. How long will people put up with this? Is it any wonder that many countries are distancing themselves from the insanity that has set in here in the USA? As a young man I never dreamed that I would end up living in a B-movie Sci-Fi flick but here I am. The left are some of the most frightening people the world has ever seen. Lord help us. Rescue us from the menace to humanity and the entire Earth that is the left today. Psychopaths are bad, lunatic psychopaths are worse, much worse.
And lets look at the lefts environmentalist goon squads. Load forests with kindling and more to save the trees and critters. And then, up in flames go the forests. But dont worry, firestorms doesn’t affect trees or critters. Good lord. Climate change is not the issue. The left is the issue.
