Germany: Muslim migrant on train speaks of bomb and Qur’an, says all other passengers must be killed

Syke (Lower Saxony) – Huge shock in the regional express on the way to Bremen. A passenger shouted that all other passengers on the train must be killed.

A passenger made an emergency call to police around 3:30 p.m. Emergency services then cleared the train station in Syke and waited for the train that had started in Osnabrück to stop.

Several officers searched the train. They arrested a Syrian (24), who resisted violently. Simon Gruhl, spokesman for the federal police: “Four officers had to carry him off the train.”

Witnesses reported that the suspect not only made death threats to passengers, but also spoke of a bomb and the Koran.

However, no dangerous objects could be found during the search of the train and the suspect.

According to initial investigations, the suspect may have spoken to a second person. The companion may have gotten off at Diepholz, Barnstorf or Twistringen train stations.

That’s why the police are now looking for other eyewitnesses who can provide information about what happened and the 24-year-old’s fellow travelers. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Federal Police in Bremen. Telephone number: 0421/16299-7777.

Beyond the horror, no one was harmed by the incident. At 5:19 p.m., the RE4460 was able to continue its journey.

Criminal proceedings were opened against the man for threatening and resisting law enforcement officials. Further investigations continue.
