Once the West discards the freedom of expression in order to appease Muslims, and adopts Sharia blasphemy laws, also to appease Muslims, it might find that what it threw away had some actual value. But by then it will be too late.
“Government: Koran burnings have NO place in Sweden,” translated from “Regeringen: Koranbränningar har INGEN plats i Sverige,” Samnytt, July 2, 2023 (thanks to L.):
Now 57 Muslim states, including Turkey, announce that they demand a ban on Koran burnings worldwide. The SD-supported Tidö government responds to the demand by apologizing for constitutional freedoms and rights in Sweden. In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated that Koran burnings “have no place in Sweden” and that critics of Islam are “extremists”.
It is after the Iraqi Salwan Momika set fire to a Koran outside the mosque on Södermalm in Stockholm earlier this week that the Muslim world has been furious. In Iraq, the Swedish embassy was stormed by angry Muslims and Swedish flags were burned. Several other Muslim countries have summoned Sweden’s ambassadors to express criticism.
On Sunday, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (IKO), consisting of 57 member countries, announced that measures need to be taken to end desecration of the Koran worldwide. This through international laws. This is reported by Reuters.
Hissein Brahim Taha, IKO’s general secretary, states that Koran burning is “a reprehensible act” and that a ban is “urgent.”
“We must send constant reminders to the international community regarding the urgent application of international law, which clearly prohibits all advocacy of religious hatred,” he says.
Foreign Ministry: Critics of Islam are “extremists”
The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs comments on the statement from the 57 Muslim countries. According to the Tidö government, critics of Islam in Sweden are “extremists” and Koran burnings have no place in Sweden or Europe.Read the full statement from the Foreign Ministry below:
“We have noted the statement from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Sweden’s government fully understands that the Islamophobic acts committed by individuals at demonstrations in Sweden can be offensive to Muslims. We strongly condemn these actions, which in no way reflect the views of the Swedish government.
“The burning of the Koran, or any other holy scripture, is an offensive and disrespectful act and a clear provocation. Expressions of racism, xenophobia and related intolerance have no place in Sweden or in Europe. Sweden has a constitutionally protected right to freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of demonstration.
“Sweden’s government finds it deeply regrettable that extremists and provocateurs seek such a split between Muslims and non-Muslims.”

Are those 57 countries willing to similarly ban not only the burning of Bibles and Torahs, but also Buddhist Sutras, Book of Avesta, the Daodejing (of Taoism), Hindu Vedas, Puranas & Epics, and so on? And crack down on people who do that just like they would for people who desecrate the quran?
My guess is no, in which case, the rest of the world should simply say no!

Well, given Sweden’s loonng-existing sexual freedoms, and all that comes with them …
I wonder how THAT will play out against its sudden conversion to Islamic ‘fidelity’!

Scummy mozlum males have already been taking full advantage of all of the young girls and women and little kids Sweden holds within its borders. As many as they can grab to rape or murder. They are getting a green light to keep on doing that, while those who tell the Truth about islam are being threatened and silenced.

Say it loud to the crowd! ????
I think Qurans should be
BURNED ? and I’m proud. ??

Such hypocrisy in the mozlum’s statement about “international law.”
“urgent application of international law, which clearly prohibits all advocacy of religious hatred,” he says.”
This mozlum liar, claims that “international law **prohibits all advocacy of religious hatred**” while fully aware that his book of evil filth is chock full of *religious hatred.* He is also aware that mozlums the world over call every day for the “killing of Jews and Christians” and to **hate** these ones because they reject islam as a belief system.
mozlums don’t just want a double standard; they demand it. They say whatever they please about ‘cracking skulls, murdering, eliminating people, raping, selling slaves, lying to, striking necks, hatred of others,’ and then make a huge worldwide stink because some brave person burns a personal copy of their book of evil which calls for all of the hatred, murder, rape, etc.
And the *leaders* of the non-mozlum world go right along and call those who point out the evils of islam, “extremists.”…This guy in Sweden is taking *extreme* measures to appease mozlums. And he is not the only one.
Extremists? They should look in the mirror. They should seriously consider a course in learning what islam is all about from someone who actually knows, but is not mozlum.
Such as Mr. Spencer, Mr. Ibrahim, Ms. Geller.
Or just read a few comments from people who know here on this site. They could get an eye full of just what kind of belief they are protecting. And where that protection is going to leave them.

Their announcement shows they know virtually nothing abut Islam.
They also know very little about the importance of freedom of speech.

“Their announcement shows they know virtually nothing abut Islam.”
Burning “the Big Book” being the issue, as the article did not state how well informed Swedish government members are about its contents, I’m left to wonder how many of them do know and are trying–foolishly–to prevent Allah’s slaves from further rioting.

This, from the Foreign Ministry statement is confusing:
“The burning of the Koran, or any other holy scripture, is an offensive and disrespectful act and a clear provocation. Expressions of racism, xenophobia and related intolerance have no place in Sweden or in Europe. Sweden has a constitutionally protected right to freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of demonstration.”
Which is it: burning religious books has no place there or Sweden has a constitutionally protected right to do so?

I’m real tired of these establishment creeps infecting Western countries. It is time for all non-muslm westerners who love their countries and culture to stand together against the primary menace, establishment creeps. WWG1WGA.
Be patient, observe and document. Put em on the round up list (with pictures) for future reference so later on the people can make migrants out of them. Perhaps they will enjoy their new islamic overlords, perhaps not.
There are a lot more people thinking what many of us are thinking but are too afraid right now to say what they are thinking. The establishment creeps can unite with the jihadists and with a scattering of clueless leftist against us. I wont tell them that is a bad idea cause I dont like them.

I have a deal for this idiot. The day that the cult of the pedophilic mass murdering thug stops its terror on non-muslims, especially like the Christians and all other religions throughout Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia and other countries around the world, then I would agree to asking people not to burn the Un-Holy book.

Nothing wrong in Quran Burning. After all Uthman, Mohammed’s successor, I believe, did it. Just carrying on an Islamic Tradition.

Personally I am against all book burnings. Books are to be read, at least before you decide that their caloric value is higher than their literary value.
I advise the Swedish government to commission a legal opinion on the Qur’an and its many commands, which appear to contravene Swedish Law, Conventions of Human Rights, the War Crimes Conventions etc. Maybe it is a bigger problem to have the commands of the Qur’an preached in Mosques in Sweden than to have a copy burned now and then?
