Pope Gets Angry Over the Burning of a Book That Calls Christians ‘Vile’

Pope Francis is “indignant and disgusted,” according to a Sunday news report, but not over what you might expect. The pontiff is not enraged over the industrial-scale clerical sex abuse that has plagued the Church, or about the escalating persecution of Christians worldwide, or about the wholesale abandonment of Christianity in Europe. Instead, he is furious because an Iraqi refugee in Sweden set fire to a copy of the Qur’an.

Last Friday, the Iraqi refugee in question, Salwan Momika, stood outside a mosque in Stockholm and mounted a one-man protest. He placed a strip of bacon inside a copy of the Qur’an, put the book on the ground and stomped on it, and tore some pages out and set fire to them. Now, if he had done this to a Bible, he would have been celebrated all over Europe and North America for being stunning and brave, but since he did it to a Qur’an, the reaction was a bit different.

Momika explained: “I want to protest in front of the large mosque in Stockholm, and I want to express my opinion about the Quran… I will tear up and burn it.” He announced his plans beforehand in a video: “My demonstration will take place on the first day of Eid,” the Muslim festival commemorating Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son Ishmael (not Isaac, as in the Judeo-Christian tradition). “My demonstration,” Momika continued, “will be in front of the big mosque in Stockholm where I will burn the Qur’an.” He added: “My loved ones, who are living in Stockholm, and would like to participate in the demonstrations, and contribute both financially and emotionally, my information is below.” He emphasized the importance of the freedom of expression: “This is democracy. It is in danger if they tell us we can’t do this.”

Salwan Momika poses a problem for those who dismiss all criticism of Islam and opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women as “hatred,” “racism” and “Islamophobia.” This critic of the Qur’an cannot be waved away with the usual smears. As a native of Iraq, Momika has had a great deal of interaction with people who believe that the Qur’an is the perfect word of the only true God. His experience has obviously not been favorable, but it is precisely that: experience.

Pope Francis, on the other hand, has never lived in a majority-Muslim country, and has steadfastly refused to face the reality of Qur’an-inspired violence even amid the global jihad against Christians. Instead, he declared counterfactually in 2013 that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Qur’an are opposed to every form of violence.”

    The Qur’an calls for the killing of Jews and Christians wherever they’re found. You support Islamic endeavors in general, something you might want to talk to God about.

    • The pectoral cross worn by the pope has nothing to do with a crucifix. Take a closer look at it. It is a marry shepherd calling his sheep for dinner!

  4. The creature known as the pope, is a lair. He does not represent the God of Truth, nor the Son Who was murdered because He spoke the Truth.
    This lying creature is not concerned with spiritual things; he is a “physical” …not really a “man”…male. He is concerned with his image, and how many brownie points he can score with his kissing buddy down in Egypt.
    The partial quote of his words: “freedom of expression must never be used as an excuse to despise others,” is a really stupid statement.

    The “freedom of expression” the brave and bold man used to show that the book of filth is evil, was not “an excuse to despise” anyone.
    We don’t need to burn anything, nor even say anything to “despise” the evils of islam and the evils of the unholy…UNholy….book that demands lying, theft, slavery, rape and murder.
    We don’t need “an excuse”….to be against what these “others” do to our loved-ones, friends, neighbors, fellow humans not of their cult., little babies, young children, young women.

    Some who know may “despise” those who go all in for the satanic cult which is spreading death throughout the world. Some may only “despise” those who do the raping of babies, advocate that evil, murder their kids, mothers, wives, murder strangers, or lie in support of the murderers and their evil actions.

    If the pope knew the Bible, he would know that in the Book of Psalms, we who read it with love and understanding of its message, are told,
    “Oh you lovers of Jehovah. Hate what is bad.”
    And in the Book of Proverbs we are told:
    “There are six things Jehovah does hate; yes seven things are detestable to His Soul.”

    We are supposed to hate those same things Jehovah hates.

    Those are a lying tongue, a false witness, a heart fabricating hurtful schemes, feet in a hurry to do badness, hands shedding innocent blood, haughty eyes, and one causing strife among brothers.

    What of those are detestable to the pope? Evidently none, as the book he is defending is chock full of demands to do those detestable things and mozlums follow them to the letter.

    • Free speech attack again. He apparently doesn’t read or remember the Bible, which says “hate the sin,” among many other similar passages, as you note. It also discusses leading young believers astray and the heavy judgement prescribed for those who represent as teachers. I think maybe his copy bursts into flames when he touches it.

He has not condemned biden nor even chastised him for his stance on baby-killing…nor has he on pelosi; but he’s all for protecting the feelings of mozlums. Okay to kill the unborn, but don’t anyone dare to criticize the book of unholy evil.

        He has taken upon himself the mantle of teacher and shepherd, and will have to answer for the way his has misused and abused those he pretends to lead. As you say, the Bible does say a heavier judgment for those with more responsibility and privilege.

  9. Query: Is this horrible excuse for a Pope massively ignorant or massively complicit? Either way he has been extremely harmful but I would still like to know the reason why.

      If one lived on an island all alone, no electricity, no newspapers, only a fishing pole some flint and dry sticks from the trees, had no communication with another human for years, that one could be excused for not knowing how evil islam is, how disgusting the book mozlums call ‘holy,’ and what damage has been done to life and freedoms in just the past decade by those same molzums and their enablers.

      I don’t believe the pope can be in that category.

      And an honest person who wants to do good, see good and looks for good in others, imo, never really understands “why” someone wishes to do evil and supports evil in others.

      • Your post, somehistory, goes to the matter of willful ignorance and such ignorance is always unforgivable unlike the example you gave of a completely isolated human being.

        The previous pontiff, Benedict XVI, understood how “problematic” Islam truly is and spoke out against it (e.g., his Regensburg speech in 2006) but the present Pope has no excuses. He has done much harm and not just with the matter of Islam but in other areas as well, for instance his woeful criticisms of capitalism, which is the only economic system that works and which at the same time embraces freedom. Francis is simply awful pretty much all around.

          If nothing else, he has the words of his own *leader’, the man you mentioned giving a speech on islam. And since then, seeing/hearing/learning of some of his own bishops and priests being murdered…in their churches and elsewhere…by the followers of the book he calls holy.
          And what about the threats to “Rome” by mozlums?

          There once was a saying, “Ignorance of the law is no excuse.”
          Ignorance…willful if so….is no excuse for this creature.

      This past March 13th, Marxist / globalist “dope” Francis has headed the Catholic Church for a full 10 years.

      Judging by both his ACTIONS / INACTIONS over this rather extensive period of time, I would say that it is most likely that he is “massively complicit”.

      And that is, if objectively true, tragic beyond tragic.

      • Worst Pope in history, James. Easily so. While the vast majority of Popes have been good human beings, some (not that many) have been venal, lascivious, etc. But none of these bad Popes actually betrayed Christian doctrine, none ever made any excuse for Islam.

  11. islam and its evil, hate-filled central book of instructions, the Koran, are rotten to the core. This Pope’s defence of the evil religion and of its central text, the Koran, which calls on Muslims to kill Christians, strikes me as being about as insane as a Jewish leader defending Hitler’s “Main Kampf” which was so full of hate for the Jewish people. With this Pope, it cannot be ignorance of the content of the Koran, because surely some of his minions would have told him about some of the vicious content of the Koran. Or are they all complete idiots? islam deserves no respect at all and I can’t understand why so many people, like this Pope, seem to think that it does deserve to be respected.

    • I agree on the comparison to defending Hitler’s MK. It’s very hard for me to see him as ignorant, but rather as acting in full knowledge and intent. Slaughter of his sheep gets no address from him but a few burned pages bring him out spewing fire and brimstone?

      • It’s easy for me to see him as evil. He says things which go against whet Christ said, and he makes stuff up in order to try to “shame” Christians into feeling bad about not wanting islam in their lives.

        Remember, back in 2011, hillary clinton met with the members of the oic and they talked about outlawing criticism of islam and she said because of the Freedom of Speech in the Constitution, the U.S. couldn’t make a law like that. She said the only way was to “shame Americans” into silence.’

        Therefore, the politicians work on the whole of Americans and the pope, false prophet, false shepherd, wolf in sheep’s clothing, works on Christians. He’s evil.

Yes, it does seem insane for a Chritsian leader, or any Christian, to come to the defence of a foul book which calls for Muslims to go out and murder non-believers when the opportunity arises. Sounds very much like the same evil message as Hitler put forward towards the Jews. I can’t understand the mentality of this Pope. I keep thinking that he is, maybe, thinking that if he keeps saying islam is peaceful, the Muslims will somehow become less evil and murderous. It will never happen and I’d say that the Muslims are laughing at his foolishness. I find it hard to believe that he is actually evil, though you may be right, somehistory, but rather a gullible fool, maybe even a senile old fool, a Church leader who is as mentally shot to pieces as Joe Biden is and just as out of touch with reality…

  13. I don’t understand his outrage at the burning of a Quran and his silence with the murder of Priest, Catholics and fellow Christians by Islamic leaders and their followers. The Quran is only printed paper and can be reproduced in the millions of copies. A human life has to be worth more than a pages of a book.

    • According to the pope we must respect the sacred command in the Qur’an to kill all Muslims who commit apostasy by leaving Islam, for instance to seek refuge in Christ.

      We must also respect the sacred command to perform honour killings of the young who give you grounds to believe that they may become an embarrassment to their Muslim family.

      The Pope also has full understanding for Catholics being decapitated in Catholic churches by devout Muslims.

      Love Jihad with forced conversion of little girls to “marry” grown Muslim men is also a sacred obligation which must be respected!

      Physical violence is also a sacred obligation of devout Muslims if they have the slightest feeling that their wife/wives might become insubordinate!

      Taking sex slaves and slaves in general in connection with confrontation with the disbelievers among Christians and Jews is also fine because it is permitted in the Holy Qur’an!

      Mr Pope, by taking side with the Muslims you are siding with all the physical filth which is an abomination for God! The so-called Holy Qur’an’s gospel is for exactly those people which according to the Bible have nothing to do in the Kingdom of God! The carnal Paradise of Islam is so filthy that Christians may mistake it for hell!

      And this is before we discuss theology: The description of Isa (Jesus) in the Qur’an is nothing short of blasphemy because he is not Gos and he didn’t die for our sins. What is left then?

      Do you support blasphemy of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?

      With which right do the Muslims claim that Abraham was a Muslim prophet? Where is the genealogy connecting Ishmael with Muhammed? The prophet himself declared that his parents were pagan and were in hell!

      Mr Pope stick to your job description and read your Bible!

The Pope Should ask if Islam has reformed itself in any measurable way since 2001 when the West stupidly has tried to bend over backwards to “please” it at the goading of our ignorant ISLAMOPHILIC elites who have never read the Koran (or the Bible for that matter). His BFF mufti al-Tayyab of al-Azhar CONFIRMED on that widely-shown Egyptian interview in 2016(thanks to MEMRI) that , indeed, islam compels the murder of apostates (especially big apostates). Perhaps Frankie can politely ask the moofti to perhaps start there!

    And don’t forget islamophile Hillary was the one who thought it would be a great idea to have the White House to host it’s first Eid dinner…and asked the new WH Muslim intern (the future wife of Rep.Anthony Weiner and Hillary’s first assistant) to help organize it .(I am blanking on her name)
