New in PJ Media:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the announcement on Friday morning: despite the fact that he is a candidate for the presidency of the United States, the Biden regime has denied him Secret Service protection:
Since the assassination of my father in 1968, candidates for president are provided Secret Service protection. But not me.
Typical turnaround time for pro forma protection requests from presidential candidates is 14-days. After 88-days of no response and after several follow-ups by our campaign, the Biden Administration just denied our request. Secretary Mayorkas: “I have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert F Kennedy Jr is not warranted at this time.” Our campaign’s request included a 67-page report from the world’s leading protection firm, detailing unique and well established security and safety risks aside from commonplace death threats.
The Secret Service says that “by law” it is “authorized to protect,” among others, “Major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election.” Thus, RFK is legally entitled to Secret Service protection only beginning on July 5, 2024, if he is still in the race and Mayorkas deems him a “major candidate” at that time. In practice, however, how soon Secret Service protection is afforded to candidates can be based at least in part on how many death threats the candidate is receiving and how serious these threats are.
That’s why Kennedy’s mention of his campaign’s “67-page report from the world’s leading protection firm, detailing unique and well-established security and safety risks” is relevant. Besides presidential candidates, the Secret Service is obliged to offer protection to various people, including former presidents, children of former presidents until they turn sixteen, and “other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President.”
What might be some of the reasons to offer “other individuals” Secret Service protection? Consider, for example, the case of a presidential candidate from America’s most prominent political family, a man whose uncle and father were both assassinated, one while he was president of the United States and the other while he was running for president. The assassinations of John F. Kennedy, the present candidate’s uncle, and Robert F. Kennedy, his father, are two of the defining moments in the history of the United States for the past six decades. It is terrible but true: the words “Kennedy” and “assassination” are forever linked in American history and culture — and now Alejandro Mayorkas says that Secret Service protection for RFK Jr is “not warranted.”

I doubt these scoundrels can be defeated in 24. If there is an election…

I think RFK should stand as a third party candidate next year in all the states. While there are conservatives who love him, they are wary of some of his leftist leanings, be it on climate change, LGBTQIA2S+ (someone needs to ask him about MAP), support of unions,… he’s more likely to split the Dems even more than Ralph Nader did in 2000. I really wonder – if Obama could overcome Clinton in 2008, despite the latter having the official backing of the DNC, can’t RFK dethrone Biden?
On the GOP side, I’ve heard people lament that our side insists on holding a primary, despite Trump having support ranging anywhere from 50-80% of the party, when the Dems aren’t having it. All the money being wasted in this campaign could be more usefully used against Biden, rather than each other. And it’s not like the anti-Trumo crowd has any serious numbers behind them: the only ones who have any traction at all are Ron DeSantis (who has some former Trump supporters like Ken Kuccinelli, Steve Cortes…) and Vivek Ramaswamy, who I daresay the GOP establishment hates even more than Trump
About the Secret Service protection, I believe that the Dems would love to assassinate Trump, if they could get away w/ it. Except that they can’t yank his secret service coverage, and if they try, that will open up a can of worms wrt Obama and Hillary (as a former first lady).
PMK says
Infidel,
The prospects of an independent or third party ticket are not good. Not even Theodore Roosevelt in 1912 could win. He got more votes than the GOP candidate did, but that didn’t help him win the Electoral College vote.
Nader may have divided the Dems in 2000 but two states made the difference in 2000. Gore lost New Hampshire and he lost Florida. If he’d won just one of them the other wouldn’t have mattered. Gore lost Florida by just 537 votes. He crushed Bush in the Miami area but Palm Beach County had the infamous ‘butterfly ballot’. It might have resulted in Nader getting enough ‘unintended’ votes to give Bush the win.
Obama beat Hillary in the primaries in 2008. There is little to no chance that RFK could dethrone Biden by running as an independent. He would need to beat him in the primaries and win the Dem nomination.
In 2016 GOP leaders wanted Jeb Bush. Primary voters didn’t. Trump won because he ran on the GOP ticket. He could not have been elected as an independent or on a third party ticket..

Agree. That’s exactly why communists run in the Democrat party, and Libertarians run in the GOP.
Otherwise, they have no chance of being elected.
P. Copson says
How can Myorkas know for certain that there isn’t a threat to the life of RFK – unless, of course, it’s him and his goons who are in charge of arranging those threats….?

I wouldn’t put it past them.

It is so entertaining to watch a political party commit seppuku. The Demcraps are disemboweling themselves and will be beheaded by the voters in 2024.
Keith O says
If Biden were to follow the protocols of seppuku then he would, if he could remember, gut himself with a wooden spoon wrapped in used toilet paper!

Perhaps RFK Jr. could sue mayorkas. Perhaps those who see the wrong in this, even if they don’t plan to vote from the man, could march on the offices of the dirty rotten creep…mayorkas….with picket signs, demanding that Mr. Kennedy be given protection.
The harvest that is coming, is going to be a ‘great’ one…in terms of those who deserve the evil crop they have so freely sown, being reaped.

Secretary Mayorkas:
“I have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert F Kennedy Jr is not warranted at this time.”
Translation:
The Biden regime wants RFK, Jr dead.
somehistory says
You are absolutely right, James Lincoln.
They wanted that before he said he would run for president. They didn’t like what he said and wrote about the vaccines, what he wrote about the fake doctor, the “i am science” liar, fauci, and they didn’t like it that so many believe him to be right.
They see a contender and they don’t like contenders. Kind of like all those people who worked with/for or just had info on the clintons….now deceased and many said to have been suicide.
They have an enemies list and he has been placed at the top.

“An employee warned Zuckerberg over email in April 2021 by saying, “We are facing continued pressure from external stakeholders, including the White House and the press, to remove more COVID-19 vaccine discouraging content.”
In another email, Facebook’s president of global affaris, Nick Clegg, said that senior White House health official named Andy Slavitt is “outraged” over the anti-vaccine content.
“Never-before-released internal documents subpoenaed by the Judiciary Committee PROVE that Facebook and Instagram censored posts and changed their content moderation policies because of unconstitutional pressure from the Biden White House,” Jordan explained.”

RFK Jr just like his Father and Uncle were saying pretty much the same things as Trump has been saying for years already and look what happened to his Father and Uncle.
RFK Jr said his Nephew is fighting in Ukraine and wish somebody would ask him WHY.
