The Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar, who is also President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, is demanding action over Qur’an burnings. He described the burnings as “a provocative and blasphemous act.”

Note how his zeal comes from a region of particular concern regarding Islamic expansion and a genocide against Christians.
The Sultan of Sokoto goes on a tirade against Sweden and the EU: “They have caused irredeemable damage to their image as civilised and humane nations.”
So is the Islamic world “civilized” and “humane”? The EU does not riot and/or kill or injure people over offense to any religion. Everyone is deemed equal under the law regardless of race, gender or creed.
The West does not grasp the teachings or zeal of normative Islam. The bigger concern is: do Western leaders have matching zeal about the freedoms of their societies? No, they do not. They are focused on the Left’s narrative: “diversity,” “inclusion,” and “tolerance.” Yet Islam offers none of these.
Sa’ad Abubakar knows full well about the violence that is prescribed in Islam, and knows that Muslims are not “remaining peaceful.” His call is merely a show of taqiyya for infidels internationally. Note how he does not openly condemn Muslims for violence in response to blasphemy.

He described the action as “a provocative and blasphemous act.”
The Sultan, in a statement by the Deputy Secretary-General, NSCIA, Prof Salisu Shehu, on Saturday said the desecration of Islamic symbols by European countries indicated that they fell short of fairness and decorum.
The Sultan urged Muslims to remain peaceful as he called on Swedish authorities to investigate the matter and ensure justice.
He added, “It is ironic that a blasphemous act of the current magnitude would be allowed in a country often celebrated as one of the most peaceful in the entire Europe. The council is particularly shocked that the supposedly intelligent and civilised Swedish police would fail to restrain, thereby tacitly granting permission for an individual to carry out such an obvious offensive and provocative act of burning a holy book.

Very unfortunate. The Sultan doesn’t know what democracy, human rights, freedom of religion are all about. His abode which is the northern part of Nigeria has been under the siege of terrorism, banditry and the killings of innocent people yet he had not been vocal to condemn it. Like burning a Qur’an is a crime right up there with beheading of non-islamic followers, or burning Christian Churches and rapping non-islamic young (9) year old girls and women.
