San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson announced Wednesday that Human Relations Commissioner Khaliq Raufi had resigned over his antisemitic comments during an official meeting last week.
“Commissioner Raufi’s ignorant comments were hurtful and in no way reflect my personal views, but they do highlight the urgent need to focus on education, bridge building, and to advocate for tolerance,” said Anderson, who appointed Raufi. “After meeting with Commissioner Raufi, I have received his resignation letter.”
Raufi said during a meeting on July 18 that he had read “a few verses” in the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy — he called it “the book of Jews” — and concluded that “it states go kill Palestinians.” He claimed this is currently taught in synagogues.
“Are you serious?” exclaimed someone in attendance during the meeting….
Raufi’s comments were reported as a “hate incident” to California’s new CA vs. Hate hotline.

He said he encouraged Raufi to pursue further conversation to “learn from this moment and build a bridge of understanding and tolerance with the Jewish community.”

there is no such verse. If one reads Deut., one finds that it is mostly concerned with the Law…it means the “Second Law” because it is the second time Moses tells the people God’s laws for them.

When the Hebrew descendants of Abraham left Egypt, they were told that God was giving them a Land flowing with milk and honey. That land had other residents who were practicing evils, such as sacrificing children to moloch…feeding their infants to the fire.

It reminds me to a case where a Christian politician in Indonesia was jailed for blasphemy against Islam because he had quoted from Quran and interpreted on his own.The national ulama (cleric) council said that only Islamic clerics could give interpretation of Quran (if I recall correctly).
The funny thing is the politician was wrong by saying Quran allowed to have non muslims as leaders (Q5:51), so the muslims had shown Islam intolerance toward non muslims.

Oh man. We read about all the crazy, all the failures, coming out of California today. With that, you have to consider cause and effect. There has been a major demographic shift in California. I know, firsthand. Can you guess the two groups that have caused that demographic shift? I know the answer, firsthand. Back in the day you didn’t see the problems that plague California today. It was a great place to work and live. I got out, had to. I have a very low opinion of those who have enabled all of what we see today in California. And no one can ignore the primary political shift that the demographic shift has brought on. It will only get worse there as more people leave just as I did.

Fact is, I was never scared, disgusted, yes. And I didn’t want them taking 10 percent out of my paycheck to fund their crap show. It became a place where they wanted my money but at the same time sought to discriminate against my demographic whenever and however they could. I dont miss it because it became something I no longer recognized nor liked. There was nothing there that I could identify with.
