Nearly fifteen years after the deadly Mumbai terror attacks, city’s Jewish center is once again in the crosshairs of Islamic terrorists.
On Saturday, Indian authorities beefed up security around the Chabad Jewish house of worship after counter-terrorism police recovered pictures of the building from two Muslim terror suspects, the Indian newspapers report. The suspects “had taken the training to make bombs and kept the required materials in their possession,” the Mumbai state’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) told reporters.
The Chabad House, located in Mumbai’s city center, was one of the targets of the 2008 terrorist attack. On November 26, 2008, 10 jihadis belonging to the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group (LeT) carried out multiple coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across the city, killing over 166 people and injuring more than 300. Six Jews were brutally tortured and murdered by two jihadi hostage takers.
The local Jewish rabbi and his wife were among the victims of attack on the Chabad House. In a February 2021 article, London-based weekly The Jewish Chronicle recalled some of the victims of the Chabad House massacre: “Chabad Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg, 29, originally from Brooklyn, died at the Chabad House with his 28-year-old Israeli-born wife Rivka. Jerusalem resident Rabbi Leibish Teitelbaum, 37, also from Brooklyn, who had been the kashrut supervisor at the centre, also perished as did dual US-Israeli citizen Bentzion Chroman, 28, was in India to work with his friend Rabbi Teitelbaum.”
Muslim groups in India and neighboring Pakistan are angered at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s restoration of diplomatic ties with Israel. In recent years, several attempts have been made to target Jews and Israeli nationals in India, including the January 2021 bomb blast outside the Israeli embassy in New Delhi – an attack linked to the pro-Iranian “Jaish-Ul-Hind” terrorist group.
“Mumbai Police on alert after Chabad House images found with arrested terror suspects,” by Divyesh Singh, India Today, July 29, 2023:
Mumbai Police have increased security of the Chabad House in Colaba after pictures of the Jewish Community Centre were found with the terror suspects arrested by the Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Pune. The terror suspects had allegedly conducted surveillance of the centre in Colaba.
Chabad House was one of the targets of the 26/11 terror attack. Since then, there has been a high-security arrangement with a 24/7 police presence.
The Maharashtra ATS arrested Mohammed Imran Mohd Yunus Khan and Mohd Yunus Mohd Yakub Saki from Pune a few days ago. According to the probe agency, they were planning an attack in Rajasthan.
During the investigation, officials recovered two Google images of the Chabad House from the accused. The ATS informed Mumbai Police officials about the photos and subsequently, the South Region of Mumbai Police beefed up security and vigil at the Chabad House. A security moke drill was also conducted in the area….

I do remember the horrific mass slaughtering of the Mumbai massacres and what was erased from some of the original reporting by the Indian police. There were reports of the horrific slaughtering of the Rabbi and his wife, she having her 8 month old fetus cut out of her, and he having his sexual organs cut off, and the utterly bloody scene available on the interest to show just how ugly insane the homcidists were. Now 15 yrs later we are at the point where we have been demanded by all of Islam to desist from ever naming the source of that homicidism, calling for erasure of the freedom to actually name it in western lands. And our globalist and progressive minded nations are happy to surrender all that… so far.

I knew they were killed but I didn’t know in such a gruesome manner. Not surprised that the fake news would downplay it. Thanks for sharing the info

Are there any Jews even left in India? In 2008, after that Chabad House attack, all its members left for Israel. Kerala once had a small Jewish population in Kochi, and they have left, and their homes are now occupied by Kashmiri muslims. Manipur, where tribal clashes are now going on, was once the home of a lost tribe of Israel, and even they have undergone Aliya. I only wish that all the muslims in India were actually Jews: we’d get along great!

In 2016, around 7000 Jews lived in India.
In 1940, an estimated 50,000 Jews called India home. Jews have experienced no instances of anti-Semitism from non-Jewish Indians. Indian Jews are active in all aspects of Indian society, including being prominent in Bollywood and occupying high offices of the state. As a matter of fact, Lt. General Jacob of the Indian Army accepted Pakistani General Niazi’s surrender in a public ceremony at the Dhaka racecourse in front of the people of the new nation of Bangladesh.

What you said should be more known. I wonder what critics like Tony Perkins has to say about “intolerant “ Hindus?!
