Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense, Or, A Muslim Denounces the Licking of an Ice Cream Cone

The Anglo-Normand motto of the British Order of the Garter is “Honi soit qui mal y pense,” which means “shame on him who thinks evil of it.” Now a Syrian journalist in Germany has raised the issue of women licking ice cream cones which, he says, is a shameful, obscene practice in public, unbefitting a civilized society. I’d say, and so do many Germans. who have responded to his article, that it is he who should be embarrassed, or even ashamed of how his sick brain works. A Syrian journalist sparked a fierce backlash on social media after penning an article questioning how appropriate it is for women to lick ice cream cones in public in a civilized society.

Writing for the Bavarian-based Süddeutsche Zeitung [a left-wing newspaper that welcomes Muslim contributors], Mohamad Alkhalaf sought to contrast the cultural differences between German society and that of his native Syria and used the consumption of ice cream in public as one example.

I can think of many other “cultural differences” between Syrian and German society. In Syria it is permissible for a husband to beat his wife if he even suspects her of disobedience; in Germany he is not. In Syria a man can kill his wife or daughters for bringing “shame” to the family and get off lightly for his “honor killing”; in Germany he cannot. In Syria antisemitism is actively encouraged at every level of society, from schoolbooks to television shows to mosque sermons; in Germany it is not. In Syria, half a million civilians can be murdered by the government with no consequences; in Germany they cannot.

But let’s return to the Crime of Licking an Ice Cream Cone.

In his article titled, “Is eating ice cream outdoors obscene?” he claimed that women licking ice cream from a cone is considered “vulgar behavior” in his homeland.

“In many conservative [Muslim] societies, of which Syria is definitely one in a sense, women in particular are expected to show a reserved and respectful demeanor in public,” Alkhalaf wrote. “Eating ice cream and other meals that could be considered phallic in shape would be perceived as provocative or offensive,” he added.

There’s another way to look at this. The Syrian journalist, like so many Muslims, has an innately feeelthy mind. For him anything remotely phallic shaped — a banana, an asparagus spear, an ice cream cone — puts him in mind of only one thing. A German woman eating an ice cream cone is come-hitheringly and symbolically performing (why “performing,” for god’s sake? Is it a circus trick?) fellatio. Western man doesn’t see it that way. We know a cigarette is just a cigarette. And if we are to insist, as the Muslims would like, that women consume their ice cream only in demure dishes, not in cones, what about bananas? Since unsliced the fruit will not fit into a dish, and there is really only one way to eat them, shouldn’t Western women learn to eat them only in private?

He claimed that, upon his arrival in Munich, he was ashamed to see such offensive behavior in public but has now gotten used to it. He added, however, that many new arrivals will not understand or appreciate such public acts and may find it more difficult to adapt.

Several political commentators and lawmakers responded to the article.

He wasn’t ashamed of the behavior of his countrymen, busy slaughtering one another with guns, explosives, chemical weapons, you name it. No, what made him ashamed, or rather embarrassed, was seeing German women licking ice cream cones. That was intolerable. He has, he writes, managed to get used to it, though he still disapproves, and he wants to warn Germans that new arrivals from Dar al-Islam will find it “difficult to adapt” to such sights. What will they do? Beat a woman for carrying on in such an intolerably provocative way? Or rape her because obviously she is “asking for it”?

It is 2023 and a Syrian Muslim named Mohamad from the IS stronghold of Raqqa complains in an article in an allegedly progressive left-wing newspaper that Germans are eating ice cream here outdoors,” tweeted Jan Wenzel Schmidt, an MP for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party….

A message to Mohamad Alkhalaf from the Germans: don’t tell us how our women must consume their ice cream. For that matter, don’t tell us what subjects we must refrain from teaching in our schools, or how we must treat our wives and daughters and other women, don’t tell us, as some of you have, to “stop making such a fuss about the Holocaust.”

Alexander Möhnle, head of Talk Bild TV, asked whether the newspaper was “the new trade journal for the Taliban,” while Marianna von Artsruni from the Young Forum of the German-Israeli Society said the Süddeutsche should not be providing a platform for those wishing to scandalize everyday activities such as eating ice cream and riding bicycles….

Why would a woman riding a bicycle be seen by Muslims behaving in a scandalous fashion? Is it because too much flesh is exposed above the ankles? Or could it be that the movement of the cyclist’s legs might be seen as resulting in frottage of a sexual nature? Perhaps these sex-mad Muslims can explain.

For the Muslims in Europe today, a woman wearing a bikini, or a woman riding a bicycle, constitutes a come-hither invitation. A woman eating a banana or licking an ice cream cone in public can mean only one thing, and no decent female would ever do such a thing in public. The male Muslim mind’s filthiness is wondrous to behold. We Infidels may be “the most vile of created beings,” but what schoolboy innocents we are compared to those people whom Oriana Fallaci famously denounced in The Rage and the Pride as the “sons of Allah.”

Honi soit, as the saying goes, qui mal y pense.
