Everybody Up! Ben & Jerry’s Celebrates the 4th By Saying We All Have to Leave the Continent

PJ Media readers are unlikely to miss Ben & Jerry’s Commie ice cream if all its American stores close, and the Bolshevik entrepreneurs are unlikely to be so consistent as to shut down all their operations in the U.S., but that was the upshot of a July 4 Ben & Jerry’s tweet: “This 4th of July, it’s high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it. Learn more and take action now: https://benjerrys.co/46vrYu3.”

The link goes to a piece of weepy propaganda demanding the destruction of Mount Rushmore, but surely Ben & Jerry’s doesn’t think that only the area of South Dakota that is occupied by four massive presidents’ heads is stolen indigenous land, do they? Time for Ben & Jerry’s to shutter all its stores on the North American continent. And everywhere else, for that matter, for consistency’s sake.

The propaganda piece on Ben & Jerry’s website begins: “Ah, the Fourth of July. Who doesn’t love a good parade, some tasty barbecue, and a stirring fireworks display? The only problem with all that, though, is that it can distract from an essential truth about this nation’s birth: The US was founded on stolen Indigenous land. This year, let’s commit to returning it. Here’s why we need to start with Mount Rushmore.” All right. But we can’t end there with a good conscience, can we?

Once Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Lincoln have been dynamited and the Sioux Nation is granted total sovereignty over that part of South Dakota, all will be well, right? No, not at all. Ben & Jerry’s laments that “the Great Sioux Nation, as the tribes in the area were collectively known, was forced to surrender its land and relocate to smaller reservations on land that the government considered ‘useless.’ From there, in 1927, they watched as their holy mountain, now located on land known as South Dakota, was desecrated and dynamited to honor their colonizers, four white men — two of whom enslaved people and all of whom were hostile to Indigenous people and values.” Gee, that’s a shame, but where did the Sioux get the land? They must have lived there since time immemorial, right?

Not quite. The Sioux drove another Native American tribe, the Arikara, out of the area in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They didn’t coexist in peace. They didn’t make some marvelous deal to the mutual benefit of both parties. The Sioux drove the Arikara out by force of arms. So if the U.S. blows up Mount Rushmore and gives the land back to the Sioux, the Sioux have to turn around and give it back to the Arikara, right? If we’re being consistent here.

    I guess the Abolition Act doesn’t apply to them either?

  2. I sympathize with Native Americans but there are a couple of really awkward facts that Leftist historians choose to ignore.
    Like the really awkward fact that some Native Americans owned black slaves or that long before spanish conquistadores {-who i think were actually quite appaling-}arrived in America,there were Aztecs wiping out fellow indians as were the Incas.You can’t blame whitey for that.And millions died from diseases that indians had no immunity. to.But like the Bubonic plague, that’s an unfortunate biological event.You can’t blame whitey for a bacterial epidemic.
    muslims have been in the slavery business for centuries and white slaves were often captured in raids and sold into slavery.If BLM want reparations go ask the muslims or the African Nations who sold their OWN people into slavery.

    Africans sold Africans into slavery{North or South},American Indians sold and sometimes killed..and ate fellow Indians…and left their skulls out for display.

      FYI, Excellent points and if I may add another one? If one follows the migration of various tribes in the Americas, one finds that as groups crossed the Aleutian Islands and sought brighter lands in which to make new homes, they chased those who were living there southwards. It was discovered that even the Jews were part of the migration (maybe as a result of the great scattering of the Jewish Nation) as Cherokee DNA testing proved. Even Mongoloid characters have been discovered in Mexican ancient statues (forgot which group) and the further south one travels, he finds that the native populations show how the new arrivals long before Columbus accidently ran into the Bahamas appropriated lands.

  3. I do not think they want us to leave the continent, but rather they should stick to their policy of being averse to selling their product in occupied territory, they should include the two European-occupied American continents.

  4. I’m absolutely certain that American Indians have voted unanimously to have Ben & Jerry’s and islamic groups (who’ve also tried this) speak for them and demand that Americans leave so child-traffickers B&J and islam can take over. /s

    In fact they’ve told me they’re appalled by islam’s evil brutality and that nearly all their tribe were dead of disease before they saw Whitey Number One.

    Mecca was taken BY FORCE from its previous pagan management, their religious symbols were all smashed, and they were FORCED to become muslim (or be killed). This ia all as related in Islam’s trusted sources.

    Gain some virtue points. Add Mecca to your restitution list.

      If one takes on face value Robert Spencer’s conclusion that Mecca & Medina were not major centers of anything during the 6th-7th centuries, then there’d be no need to add Mecca to the list. Everything there is indeed Umayyad & Abbasid era and beyond

  6. Isn’t ice cream made with stolen milk with no compensation provided to the poor cows, who labor through the year to make Unilever and B&J’s board of directors wealthy? At the end of their productive cycle, the poor cows are probably slaughtered. What about those cow’s rights? Huh?

    As a Hindu, I am just about miffed. I suggest that a new non-violent, grass root movement – CLM – be organized to protest outside B&J’s HQ in South Burlington, VT. Reparations need to be made to all the surviving families of those cows who have been treated this way since 1978.

    Now I am well and truly (almost) annoyed.

      One interesting thing about B&J’s is that unlike most US corporations, which went from apolitical to woke over the last decade, B&J’s was Marxist from the get-go, thanks to the Bernie-like attitudes of both Ben and Jerry. So when they sold it to Unilever, it didn’t change anything. Even the anti-Israel sentiments of the company were probably there under their founders as well

If one only mentions the wrongs whites have done and doesn’t mention the wrongs that non-whites have done—and this would include wrongs by American Indians against other Indians or against whites or against blacks—then such a person is not in the pursuit of the truth but rather is in the pursuit of an agenda.

    Virtually all peoples have committed wrongs, often highly terrible wrongs, but we live in an absurd age whereby only the wrongs of whites are mentioned. Would be deuce difficult to get more phony than this.

    Americans leave America to the natives and either take, or destroy the infrastructure we have built (we don’t want any Indians triggered by those racist roads and bridges)

    What then happens to America? Indians go back to riding the plains hunting bison and living in teepees?

  10. If I remember other youtube articles, Turkey stands on the former Eastern Roman Empire. It recently turned the greatest Orthodox church of that empire into a mosque. Indeed, almost all the current Islamic countries were created by Islamic invaders destroying a previous culture and taking over. Perhaps they should also return their stolen land and return to Medina or Mecca. And then Russia should withdraw from all the territory that it conquered in past millennia, starating with Ukraine. If the native Americans had their lands back, would they like to live on the stone age level they knew before Columbus? I think not. Playing the guilt card is the leftists/ favorite weapon, but they should not get away with it.

  11. The owner of Ben & Jerry’s, Unilever, is publicly traded as UL.

    Even though its ties to Ben & Jerry’s is not generally recognized, it is dropping nonetheless.

      In the food court of the Dulles Mall, there used to be a B&J’s stall smack dab in the middle of the court. While it was there, I rarely saw it have much traffic, and it shut down a few months ago. I doubt that the Marxist activism of any of its owners – be it previously Ben & Jerry, or now UL, has done it any good
