Almsgiving, zakat, is one of the pillars of Islam. But like virtually everything else in Islam, it is not a matter of voluntary concern for the needy. It’s an obligation, the refusal of which can have lethal consequences.

On June 27, a farmer, identified as Ajmal, was killed by Taliban due to his failure to pay the tithe in Chahar Asyab District in Kabul, reports Hasht-e Subh Daily. Ajmal’s brother was injured during this incident.

I would love to ask the Taliban to follow allah’s advice in koran 10:94 and check with the Bible people about what the Law of Moses says about murder[NO} {as allah claims to be the author of}but it must be hard to find a Bible and allah didn’t seem to give them Reason.

Essentially, Zakat is a tax, not an act of charity. It’s the version of jizia for muslims, as opposed to infidels: they have to pay it w/o the humiliation and debasement that non-muslims experience when they pay it

That despicable and wicked action of the Taliban when they murdered that farmer for not paying the Islamic tax, Zakat, to uphold and support their Sharia regime in Afghanistan. they have proven themselves to be just a criminal and murderous as that gangster chief Al Capone in the city of Chicago during the 1920’s which “protection racket.”
When ,in time, all those Muslims who make up the Taliban ,do die they will then go and join Al Capone in the same awful place that he in in now, Which is a terrible place of extreme suffering that the Bible calls hell.

If the farmer is poor, he doesn’t have to pay zakat, but I think the Taliban didn’t want this money for supporting the poor
