Yes, there is a significant cultural gap between Syria and France, but it’s narrowing rapidly.
Notice how the wife wants to withdraw her complaint. She was likely contemplating what life would be like after these proceedings, as she would face ostracism or worse for going to the kuffar and not redoubling her efforts to please her husband.
The Qur’an teaches that men are superior to women and should beat those from whom they “fear disobedience”: “Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” — Qur’an 4:34
Muhammad’s child bride, Aisha, says in a hadith that Muhammad “struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: ‘Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?’” — Sahih Muslim 2127
An another hadith states: “Rifa`a divorced his wife whereupon `AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. `Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah’s Messenger came, Aisha said, ‘I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes!’” — Sahih Bukhari 7.77.5825
“Manosque: he hits his wife with sticks and belt,” translated from “Manosque : il frappe sa femme à coups de bâtons et de ceinture,” La Provence, June 18, 2023 (thanks to Medforth):
In France for 3 months, Iman is a young woman with black eyes and covered by the Hijab (Muslim clothing showing only the face). She appears timidly at the bar of the Digne-les-Bains criminal court on June 13. Helped by an interpreter, she explains that she has just married religiously with Louai Alali, 26, in an irregular situation on the territory and member of a Syrian family settled for 5 years in Manosque (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) .
Ten days earlier, she went to the police station to complain about the violence of her companion, who hit her every day with sticks and a belt and presented the investigators with numerous bruises on her thighs and arms.
According to the young woman, Louai is a jealous man, drug addict and often violent before forcing her to have sex. Also mistreated by her in-laws, Iman wants to file a complaint and join her sister, living in the Toulouse region.
During the trial, the defendant admitted having slapped her once, because she had, according to him, been insulting to her stepfather. “She made a mistake, she annoyed me, specifies the young man after translation by the interpreter. A woman must accept the violence of her husband, if she wants to maintain the community of life.”
“In France, it is forbidden to hit either his wife or anyone else for that matter,” recalls the president of the court, who wonders about the legal conditions of this marriage and the behavior of the defendant found in possession of the phone, credit card and identity documents of his concubine.
“My husband, I love him and I want him out of prison”
Obviously under his influence, the young Syrian woman now wishes to withdraw her complaint and refuses to collaborate with the doctors responsible for examining her. “My husband, I love him and I want him out of prison. He only hit me once, it was the interpreter who mistranslated my words,” proclaims this victim, clearly overwhelmed by the turn this hearing is taking. “The violence is materialized and the sentence must be significant to protect the victim,” points out the public prosecutor, Rémy Avon, who requires 12 months in prison, 8 of which are suspended and continued in detention.
In charge of the file for barely a few hours, the defense lawyer, Me Huilen Grotti tries in vain to raise a procedural defect committed after the hospitalization of her client, during his police custody. She pleads a unique gesture of anger recognized by a defendant himself “victim of a significant cultural gap between Syria and France,” and “the example of a violent father and a submissive mother.” The defendant speaks: “I no longer wish to live with my wife, she brings me too many problems.” He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, including 7 months suspended probation, obligations of care, prohibition of contact with his victim and continued detention.

The good thing about being a Muslim migrant in Europe is that you can be half assed about the religion but still celebrate that parts you like. For instance you can be a drug dealing wife beater. In Quran, 5:90-91, intoxicants and gambling are called “abominations of Satan’s handiwork”, which was aimed to warn righteous Muslims to not turn away from prayers and forget god. Therefore, Muslims were ordered to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. So a Muslim shouldn’t gamble or drink. Maybe downers would qualify as intoxicants. So it would be possible for a Muslim to be a meth user/dealer who beats his wife whenever she says “could we do it later?” and still be in Allah’s good graces. What a messed up religon.

When it comes to barbaric islam and civilised western societies the cultural differences are so great that islam is totally incompatible, in endless ways, with western values and Muslims need to be shut out of all western societies. And there is not a doubt in the world that all Muslims want to impose barbaric islam on everybody, so once they have grown their numbers there is bound to be nothing but trouble as they seek to impose their primitive religious ideology on everybody. Muslims belong nowhere but in Muslim countries. They will never get along peacefully with the hated infidels, the non-members of their vile religion.
Michael Copeland says
Too right.
“The only one law …anywhere… has to be Islam” – Abu Bakr, Australia
“Islam will invade Europe and America, smashing Western civilisation and replacing it with Islam” – Mohammed Mahdi Akef
“It is the nature of Islam to …impose its law on all nations” – Hassan al Banna
“Islam requires the earth, not just part, but the whole planet” – Maududi

Islam is a rotten, extremely aggressive and intolerant religious ideology, Michael. As those quotes show islam has no intention of ever just adopting the attitude of live and let live. It has a vicious version of what god is and an extremely hate filled attitude towards anyone who is not part of the evil religion. Other religions, at least these days, have a very different outlook and say, well, OK, you see things your way and I see them my way, but no worries. It will never happen with islam and therefore I think there is no way to get along peacefully with islam and its followers.
PRCS says
As a theocracy, Islam is also a system of governance.
A horrible system of governance which has no place down under or up here.
tim gallagher says
Yep. I can’t find anything in the barbaric, primitive load of rubbish that i like, PRCS. Being forced to live the way 7th century Arabians lived their lives is a horrendous idea for any even half civilised and enlightened human being.

Liks abused wives everywhere she wants to withdraw the complaint, says she loves the abuser, and lies for him, ‘he only hit me once.’
It’s a good thing when the court goes forward anyway to protect the victim; because in these cases, fear is what drives the woman to try to stop it after the authorities have taken it up.
And, like so many cases of rape and abuse such as this, the perp hires a female attorney. that is meant to sway the jury because the guy is guilty, she knows it, and yet fights to get him off.

the arguments to excuse the violence of the invaders are allready there organised and sorted even before the islamic invasion by the muslims i would think…. after all the muslims are not doing this extermination of the natives for the first time are they??? they have been wiping out natives such as the africans and egyptian of north africa ages and ages ago…. infact these arguments are like part of the religion just like the dawa and other traditions they have….

I agree with the above opines but I am concerned that the next time she may be killed in an honor killing by this animal called a husband or another family member. She should have been sent to a safe house in another part of France and the animal returned to Syria where he belongs.

In other words, the lawyer said that Islamic culture allowed beating wive(s). Isn’t the lawyer an Islamophobe because the lawyer accuses Islam is evil?
Islam regulates every detail of muslim’s life like how to wipe the butt, or muslims should pluck the armpit hairs. So beating wive(s) certainly is sanctioned in Islam, if it is a part of Islamic culture.
James Lincoln says
According to the feature article:
“…lawyer bases defense on ‘significant cultural gap between Syria and France’ ”
True enough.
So why would France accept people with a “significant cultural gap” into their countries?
Michael Copeland says
Maybe the lawyer had been speaking with Hillary Clinton,
“Let’s be clear. Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people….”
or Theresa May,
“Islam is entirely compatible with British values and our national way of life.”
