New in PJ Media:
We used to have politicians who could speak. The writings of Daniel Webster and Abraham Lincoln were studied in literature classes, before all that was swept away to make room for racial hatred indoctrination and pronoun-choosing sessions. Now, by contrast, we’ve got Old Joe Biden and John Fetterman (D-Uhhh). On Saturday, they teamed up to assure us that they’ve got the collapse of a section of I-95 in Pennsylvania firmly under control. Sure they do. No doubt their command of the situation is commensurate with their command of the English language.
Fetterman first addressed the issue in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Friday, when that committee’s chairman, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Bidenville), asked him to comment on the I-95 collapse. After a fairly lengthy pause, Fetterman responded:
Uh, no, I, I, I, uh, would, would, would just, ah, um, really like ta, y’know, the 95, 95, 95. Y’know. Um, y’know, obviously, that, y’know, you’re pretty much preoccupied with, with the 95, and I certainly am too, and you know it’s a major, uh, atery, na-, not just for, for Pennsylvania, but for the east, the east coast. And, Penn- a lot of Pennsylvanians are worried that the delays and repairs bring to its standstill deal.
Yes, he said “atery,” as if I-95 were one big roadside restaurant. Then on the following day, Fetterman, resplendent in his trademark hoodie and shorts, stood next to the putative president of the United States and gave Old Joe a lesson on how to speak with shocking incoherence while everyone around you has to pretend that you’re making perfect sense. The lion of the Senate declared:
And now I’m standing next to, the president again, next to a collapsed bridge, here. And he is here to commit to work with th-, the governor and the, the delegadation, to make sure that we get this fixed quick, fast, as well too. This is a president that is committed to infructure. Yeah, and then on top of that, uh, the, the jewel, uh, wha-, kinda of, um, uh, law, of the infreshture, infruc, yeah, imfresshion, uh, bill, that is gonna make sure that there’s gonna be bridges all across like this all across th-, America getting rebuilt.
That was a hard act to top, and Old Joe didn’t even try. After Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney introduced him by noting that he rooted for the Philadelphia sports teams, Biden said, “I might add if I didn’t, I’d be sleeping alone.” When this didn’t get the laugh he expected, he added, “Do I have to explain? I better to explain that, some don’t know what I’m talkin’. My wife’s a Philly girl.” Still no laughs, so Biden walked away from the podium and asked, “All right, where we goin’?”

Meanwhile President Putin holds a three and one half hour press conference being lucid, informed, spontaneous and answering questions directly. Russia’s economy is strong and growing. His popularity at at all time high.
gravenimage says
Dear SKA, I don’t think there is anything spontaneous from Putin, and all media is state controlled there. Then, the Ruble basically has no practicable international rate of exchange at this point, and Russia cannot import basic replacement parts. Its economy is shrinking rather than growing.

W/o wanting to be a shill for Russia, people who think that Russia’s economy is shrinking or collapsing are living in a bubble. If anything, Western sanctions on Russia have backfired, w/ much of the world waking away from the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. All the countries doing this are not US adversaries, but taking advantage of the situation to create alternatives that they can use for the dollar when they don’t have to. Tucker Carlson covered this in April in one of his monologs:
Some of the points he made have implications elsewhere as well. Russia, being the world’s largest exporter of natural resources, is too valuable to the rest of the world to simply be boycotted: it didn’t happen even during the Soviet era. So other countries have made arrangements w/ Russia not involving US dollars, and w/ the EU, Russia has forced them to pay for their oil & gas, not yet cut off, in Rubles, so the Feds can’t freeze squat! This situation is nothing like the situation w/ Iran, where we could arm-twist other countries into sanctioning Teheran
Also, when all these countries are buying things from Russia, they don’t wanna have a trade deficit w/ Russia that they’d then have to pay w/ cash, of Russia’s choosing. So they happily export anything they can to Russia. Over the last couple of decades, one thing about globalization, and especially manufacturing moving to the third world, has meant that Russia can get anything it needs from those countries if the West refuses to sell it
It’s true that Ukraine has done well defending itself in the war, and exposing Russia as a paper tiger: in future, US needs to pull out of every nuclear weapons agreement w/ Russia and focus on China, which actually has both the muscle and the wherewithal to run a war, and which has replaced Russia as the world’s other superpower. But that’s something totally different from the West weaponizing its economy against Russia, just like it has weaponized its corporate sector against anti-woke societies, who may object to anything from eating crickets and mealworms to having their kids castrated in the name of “gender affirmation”
I recall that in the wake of the Cold War, I rejoiced at the US being the world’s lone superpower. These days, I’m happy that Russia is still an alternative: a couple of weeks ago, Tara Reade – the woman raped by Joe Biden – announced that she’s seeking asylum in Russia, since she fears that the US government is targeting her. In a unipolar world, the US would have been an evil monolith, driving the woke agenda

I never thought that I would read about a US citizen seeking asylum in Russia.
Russia!
And to top it off, she may be right…
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Yeah, James. Back in the day, Russians would try to defect b’cos they were being hunted down by the KGB. Now, you have Tara Reade being hunted down by the FBI, which is why she has to look for a country that doesn’t have an extradition arrangement w/ the US
And given what we have ruling us, I’m glad that Russia is still a refuge of those not wanting to bow to the US Dems, who are this century’s CPSU. I think Russia may be the next flee-to place for Westerners not wanting their kids trans-ed

Kenny remains in office because a sufficient number of Philidelphia citizens keep voting for him.
Fetterman remains in office because a sufficient number of Pennsylvania citizens voted for him.

No, I still say it’s election FRAUD!
PRCS says
That a sufficient number of voters elected Fetterman, and re-elected Kenney can be proven.
While fraud is a possibility, it has not been proven so far.
gravenimage says
Agreed. Sadly, there are a lot of idiots in Philadelphia.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
No, it’s that Fetterman was a horrendous candidate, & President Trump really stepped on it by endorsing him, instead of Kathy Barnette or any of the other candidates. Had President Trump endorsed Kathy, she’d have retained that seat for the GOP
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
Likely a typo, but it was Dr. Mehmet Oz who was endorsed by Pres. Trump.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Yeah, that’s who I meant. In the public, people balked at voting for a Turkish muslim who still had his Turkish citizenship, and no one asked him about it in the debates b’cos that would be islamophobic. That’s what sunk the GOP there

This might be funny if it was just a standup routine by two old, worn-out, comedians.
When I was young, a boy gave me what was called “toilet water.” Strange name for something that smelled similar to fresh apples.
This addressing of a serious issue by these two “leaders” of the country is the real toilet water. People are in deep trouble and many have no clue.
gravenimage says
Somehistory, “toilet water” just means a light perfume used while performing your toilet–i.e., dressing. It doesn’t mean water you find in the toilet bowl. Basically a French reference.
Agree with the rest of your post.
somehistory says
g, I know that. I never once though it came from the toilet.
I was a kid when the boy gave me the pretty bottle of “Apple Blossom toilet water”
and I thought then that it was a “strange name” for perfume.
And, thanks.
gravenimage says
Somehistory, I’m sorry. Sometimes hard to tell irony on-line.
In my defense, I’ve met several intelligent people who have been genuinely baffled by toilet water.
somehistory says
No harm done, g.
A lot of people in the South still had outdoor “toilets” into the 60’s. My father’s sister got her indoor “toilet’ in that decade. If you visited her before that, and had to “go,” take a trip out the back door, past the chicken coop and veggie garden to the tiny wooden structure.
I didn’t learn much French before the 80’s, so the outhouse was the only “toilet’ with which I was familiar. We never called our indoor anything but the bathroom.

Pretty sad stuff.

So far, I don’t recall anyone from Pennsylvania saying they regret electing them.
Some may regret it. None have said so to my knowledge.
Yep, pretty sad stuff.

It is so embarrassing to watch people like Biden, Fetterman and even Kamala Harris in action. They are so clearly not up to the jobs they are meant to do. The scum that lead China must love to see such buffoons in action. We have some dopey politicians in Australia, but none display such deteriorated mentalities as either Fetterman or Biden. Here in Australia, I glance at a website called “Michael Smith News” because i get such a laugh out of some of the regular commentators there. It is mainly about Australian political issues, but also others worldwide issues. It had this video of Fetterman and Biden and one of the commentators, who calls himself Up the Workers wrote, amongst other things: “What are the animal quarantine costs like to get a dog into the United States of Alzheimen? I reckon my dish-licking, flea-taxi could do a better job than either of that gristle-brained pair of demented Dementiacrat clods.” How can Fetterman, after his stroke, or the demented Biden, stay in those jobs? But, in a democracy the voters get what voted for and, therefore, deserve. Another commenter on Michael smith news said, “you think those two, referring to Fetterman and Biden, are dumb, what about the voters who voted for them?”.
PRCS says

I thought that was funny as well, PRCS. I often do find the comments by “Up the workers” and some of the other commentators on that website funny, ferocious but funny. In most Australia, because of the warm weather, although it is now winter and I really do hate and feel the cold badly, it is a paradise for all sorts of insects, so the comment is probably accurate about the dog. Ticks are a big problem as well in certain areas and do infest and kill quite a few dogs. Australia is beautiful and has lovely sunny weather a lot of the time, (skin cancer capital of the world, but I still love the sunshine) but is paradise for lots of insects, for a huge number of poisonous and other snakes, etc.

“And now I’m standing next to, the president again, next to a collapsed bridge, here.” Biden resembles a collapsed bridge, so it was an unintentional double meaning.
