Did a Christian Terrorist Just Strike in France?

At first glance, the story seems distressingly familiar: a Syrian asylum seeker went on a stabbing spree at a playground in the French city of Annecy Thursday, stabbing four three-year-olds and an adult. There have been numerous incidents in recent years of Muslim migrants in France stabbing people in random attacks, often while screaming “Allahu akbar.” In this case, however, the attacker shouted “In the name of Jesus Christ” as he did his stabbing, and he claims to be a Christian. Do we at last have the Christian terrorist that looms so large in Leftist myth but has been so elusive in real life?

The attacker’s name has been reported as Abdalmasih H. (European news reports frequently withhold the surnames of violent attackers.) He is reportedly 32 years old and arrived from Syria in November 2022. A spokesman for the French Interior Ministry said, “He arrived in France in 2022, and had refugee status.”

Is he a Christian? It’s certainly possible. He not only yelled “In the name of Jesus Christ,” but he was wearing a cross necklace, which he fingered ostentatiously, as if he wanted to make sure it was noticed, in between stabbings as he ran around the playground. His name, Abdalmasih, means “Slave of the Messiah,” or “Slave of Christ.” Jesus is, however, referred to as “al-Masih” in the Qur’an, so this is not as open-and-shut as it may initially appear.

A French-language report in the French paper Le Figaro says that “the assailant, who was wearing a Christian cross when he was arrested, presented himself as a ‘Christian from Syria’ when applying for asylum at the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (Ofpra) on November 28, 2022.” Thus it would seem to be an open-and-shut case: Abdalmasih is a Christian who went on a stabbing spree. Certainly, there are Christians throughout history who have committed acts of violence, as well as many who have done so in the name of Christ. Yet, in this case, troubling questions remain.

If he is a Christian, he did not stab these children in accordance with any Christian teachings, as there are no Christian teachings that call for such violence. Despite the best efforts of Islamic apologists and their Leftist allies to weaponize various passages of the Hebrew Scriptures that neither Jews nor Christians regard as applicable to all people or to today’s world, there is no Biblical equivalent to the Qur’an’s command to “kill them wherever you find them” (2:191, 4:89, cf. 9:5).

  2. I believe that Christians / Jewish and any religious have the right to defend themselves from the Muslim jihadist .   4. If you watch the film of it, it looks like a case of bad acting to me. He is running around with a knife stabbing people, while simultaneously taking great care to stroke the crucifix around his neck & saying it is for Jesus. He is really trying to get people to believe he is doing it for Jesus.

    Well Abdalmasih, you didn’t fool me, & you didn’t fool anyone on Jihad Watch. 87% of people in Syria are Muslim, you just happen to be a rather crafty one pretending to be a Christian.

    • I totally agree with you David and I am a Canadian Christian guy originally from Iraq and I tell you its bad acting and there is no way that this Syrian guy is a Christian but rather a Muslim who pretends to a Christian in order to send a message out there that not only Muslims commit terrorism ; and not only that as you said he stroke on the cross while stabbing !! Ironically Jesus said “ if you don’t be like these little ones ( I.e. children ) , you will never make it to the kingdom of heavens” so this guys stroking the cross while stabbing !!!!? ? not only that Christians of the Middle East are the ones who suffered immeasurably from Islam more then any other nations I the world since the rise of Islam and they escaped Islamic terror, there is no way to commit terrorism . I remember one day after the fall of Saddam’s bloody regime, my Muslim neighbour used to hang on the walls of their home pictures of Jesus and Virgin Mary “ and she said to my mom that she did so so that when US troops while doing house -to-house search for weapons in my neighbourhood, they would rest assured that we are Christians not Muslims in order to protect ourselves from being interrogated “ ?? and as her role model false prophet Muhammad said “ war is deceit “ .

  7. The icecream salesman of the park told the media that he saw the attacker for about the three previous days sitting in the park. He said that the attacker seemed to have chosen not to attack on a weekend when the fathers are with the children and able to protect them. He attacked when only vulnerable people were around. The attacker also stabbed an elderly man.

    • And in the attack he ran past adults & intentionally attacked small children & an elderly man. I hope his fellow prisoners catch up to him & give him a taste of his own medicine when he gets to prison.

  8. Didn’t isis begin in Syria? Did not the one-time leader of that terror group tell mozlums to “wear crosses” and pretend to be Christian?

    Is not islam the *religion* that teaches many different ways of deceit? Do mozlums not use lies and half-truths to pull the dirty wool over the eyes of the ignorant and the ones who wish to be fooled?

    Isn’t it true that mozlums are told anything is acceptable if it furthers the spread of their evil filth? Have they not been known to do things that their book says not to do in order to deceive infidels?

    It matters not if he was raised in a “Christian” home or environment…which is so doubtful, the doubt would have saved Ted Bundy from the electric chair….he is not Christian.

    A Christian must be obedient to the commandments of Jesus Christ. If a person is brought up to go to church, gets baptized and when asked, says he is a Christian, he must obey the commandments of Christ or he is just another liar; and may be fooling himself, but he won’t fool Christ or God.

    This mozlum murderer, this mozlum terrorist, this mozlum liar is just trying to smear Christianity, to make the uninformed, believe there is no difference between Christ and the fake prophet who taught murder, rape, lies, theft, and served satan.

    Anyone who reads the Gospels….whether they *believe* what is written is the absolute Truth or not…can see that Jesus Christ never commanded such things as islam demands and approves with the fake promise of a paradise of drunken rape of young girls and boys.

    Anyone who hates Christ, His followers and Christianity will latch onto this account and say Christians are no different….didn’t “bo” say that Christians shouldn’t be on their high horses?…from the mozlums going about murdering small children.

    To be Christian, a person must do as Jesus would do; to say what Jesus would say; to think what Jesus thinks to the best of that one’s ability.
    Furthermore, many who call themselves Christian, do not wear crosses….it was, and is not, *commanded* by Christ.
    Actions and words and a clean heart are the emblems one should see in a person claiming to follow Christ.

  11. It doesn’t matter what religious flavour this nutter is, the simple fact is, he attacked small children with a blade.
    Prosecute him as the low life criminal he is, then work out if he is a Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or Mudslime.
    The important things are, 1. the ids make a full physical & mental recovery and
    2. whatever religion this animal is, it is made public knowledge.

  14. I read in a news article that he spent a few months living in a church while living in Sweden. He obviously got ‘converted’ there. Same thing happened in U.K. a scam was revealed where Muslim migrants persuaded a vicar to convert them. Then one of them carried out a horrendous failed bomb attack on a train.
    It’s their favourite trick, stops them getting deported back because they claim they will be persecuted if sent back.
