The students at An-Najah University in Nablus want greater escalation and violence against the Jewish state, as if Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority weren’t aggressive enough in promoting jihad against Israel.
Indeed, most Palestinians do want to see the obliteration of Israel; this is the goal of their “resistance.” Hence the support for Hamas, and they make no secret of this. It is the woke who choose not to believe them.
In 2021, Israeli security forces broke up a large-scale Hamas terror infrastructure at An-Najah University. Three years before that, the university held a ceremony to “recognize 61 prisoners incarcerated in Israel’s Nafha Prison who had completed a course in international law and human rights.” It was a blatant display of how the words “human rights” and “international law” have been twisted to suit the Palestinian jihad agenda.
The victory at An-Najah University is a major blow to Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah Party, which has been hanging on to power through Abbas’ rule by decree.

A Hamas-affiliated list on Tuesday won the election for the student council at An-Najah University in Nablus in what is seen by Palestinians as a major blow to the ruling Fatah faction headed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
It was the second victory by a Hamas-affiliated group in student elections at a West Bank university in the past year.
In May 2022, supporters of Hamas at Bir Zeit University, north of Ramallah, scored a landslide victory by winning 28 of the student council’s 51 seats, as opposed to 18 for their rivals in Fatah. The next elections at Bir Zeit University are scheduled to take place next week amid expectations that the Hamas-affiliated list, Islamic Bloc, is slated to win again.
In the past year, Nablus saw the emergence of a number of armed groups such as Lions’ Den, Balata Battalion and Nablus Battalion. Some Palestinians in the city have criticized the PA for failing to order its security forces to confront Israeli troops during counterterrorism operations that resulted in the killing and arrest of scores of gunmen….
Hamas leaders welcomed the results of the An-Najah University elections and said they are an indication that most Palestinians support the “path of resistance” against Israel….

In the statement by Hamas, “path of resistance” against Israel…” it appears that to resist means to attack rather than stand against or protect one’s self. It seems that either the translators or Hamas deliberately use the incorrect verbs. The statement should have been, “a path of aggression and slaughter.” Neither Hamas nor the PA have any intention of living in peace with the Jewish State of Israel on the same planet with them.
