It’s more obvious by the day that Leftists have a taste for authoritarianism, but Hanoi Jane Fonda makes it even more obvious than others do. Fresh from calling for the murder of pro-lifers, Jane has now blamed the mythical crisis of climate change on the Left’s all-purpose bogeymen, white males. And what does the star of Barbarella think ought to be done with these villains? Why, they must be imprisoned, of course. Then, while the world’s white guys are rattling their tin cups against the bars, women and “people of color” can pool their efforts and save the world. Just like in the movies.
Yes, it sounds like a joke, but the photo-op girl for the North Vietnamese, now no longer the ingenue she was in those heady days, insisted Saturday that “this is serious.” The noted scientist added: “We’ve got about seven, eight years to cut ourselves in half of what we use of fossil fuels.” Oh, brother, here we go again with the climate apocalypse hysteria. Fonda’s time limit recalled the words of her fellow climate mythicist, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Make Mine a Double), who on Jan. 21, 2019, chastised the older generations for not being sufficiently terrified in the face of impending doom: “Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we’re like, ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’”
Jane seems to see eye-to-eye with AOC, as by the deeply intellectual and patriotic congresswoman’s reckoning, the end of the world would come by Jan. 21, 2031, which is seven and a half years from now, or “seven, eight years,” as Fonda said.
And so now, even as our time on this planet is rapidly running out, Hanoi Jane, ever the vengeful Maoist, maintains that those who have gotten us into this fix have to pay for what they’ve done. Sounding like the old cliché of the modern Leftist, seeing racism in literally everything that happens, she said, “Unfortunately, the people that have the least responsibility for it are hit the hardest — Global South, people on islands, poor people of color.” It used to be a joke headline: “Hurricane Strikes City: Blacks, Women Hardest Hit.” But Fonda was, of course, deadly serious: “It is a tragedy that we have to absolutely stop.”
How can we stop it, Jane? The answer is simple: Jail Whitey. “We have to arrest and jail those men — they’re all men [behind this].” Why, of course. White men have been heating up the planet, heedless of the consequences, in the fiendish pursuit of – you guessed it, white supremacy.

I can’t remember but somewhere I had this idea that when David Horowitz was a die hard marxist that it was he who coached Fonda when she got back from North Vietnam?? I don’t know if this is at all accurate, but does anyone recall such a relationship between them from back then? I do remember the sense of mea culpa that he did go thru for his teachings and doings for the Left back then which then produced the fine constitutionalist thinker that he became and leaves to us.

mgoldberg, I hadn’t heard of Horowitz having any contact with Jane Fonda, nor have I been able to find anything–but of course he did grow up in a communist household, and followed that same path himself early on. He later started thinking for himself and changed his politics considerably.

In addition, related to this is that the futurists who helped contribute to the making of 1973 movie entitled “Soylent Green” had made movie about that life on earth would be like in the far-distant year of 2022. For from the worldview from the timeframe 1973 , the year 2022 was ,very much , seen as distant future.
The point is environmental experts of 1973 who had a hand in the making of that movie had been proven completely wrong in everything they had predicted what life for people would be like because of environmental pollution in the year of 2023. In this year, 2023 this are still not even close to that that movie predicted

Soylent Green was not made by environmental experts–the original story, “Make Room! Make Room!” was written in 1966 by pulp Sci Fi writer Harry Max Harrison.
But then, Al Gore based his global warming polemic “An Inconvenient Truth” on 1999 action movie “The Day After Tomorrow”, which was a disaster movie about sudden catastrophic global *cooling*, where NYC is iced over.
These “environmental experts” have been no more accurate than have fiction writers, though.

I’d forgotten about that one, Hoi Polloi! That was “In Search Of”, which dealt with all sorts of iffy stuff like extraterrestrials and witchcraft. I love it–Nimoy talks about how 1977 was the worst winter in a century. This sounds impressive, until you realize that there was no ice age in 1877, either.

One early summer day I was watching on television an educated man and likewise a scholar who had written a book about environmental degradation concerns. His message was rather alarming and disturbing. This is because he had in his book, predicted, that in not more than forty years all life, including human life, will become uninhabitable on earth because of pollution.
That was an early summer day of the year 1967. So now in this current year of 2023, over fifty years and not forty his error of prediction is easily now seen to be in great error.
So modern history is repeating itself again, this that alarmist environmental scholar of the year of 1967 is now replaced by environmental experts on the subjects of “global warming” and “climate change.”

Only a few years ago some of those left –wing climate change alarmists are so very irrational actually feel that engaging in vandalism will, somehow, help their agenda . Vandalism only increases environmental waste.
For example, some of them arrived at a museum to act out their vandalism ? By a car or some other type of vehicle ?
If so they are burning more fossil fuels and thus adding to the “climate problem.”

jane is getting old. She has lost her youth and what she may have had in the way of ‘good looks.’ She’s not being called upon to act in the kinds of movies as when she was young, like “Barefoot in the Park.”

But when she says that those terrible white men have caused this disaster, it sounds as though she is saying that, by creating advanced civilisations with the industrial revolution, etc, they meant to cause the supposed disaster. As though they could see it all coming and chose to do the imagined damage. She seems like a complete lunatic or maybe she is an old, irrelevant celebrity who is desperately saying outrageous nonsense in order to get some attention and some kind of relevance. Hopefully, almost nobody would take any notice of the nonsense she comes out with. In the history of mankind…and that includes all of the women, whether smart or stupid (like jane)….there have been many kings and people in high power who murdered their family and friends, or had them murdered in order to stay in power.
There was Queen Athaliah, for one, who killed her own grandsons so she could reign. And she was none other than the daughter of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
There were others like them in the Bible, and many more in the common world who killed kith and kin for similar reasons.
There is plenty of bad company for jane as being a “lover of murder” as she stated.

She just seems like a crazy person to me, somehistory. All this endless bashing up of white people these days is annoying and boring to me. We have plenty of this crap here in Australia. You know, the white man has done nothing but damage to the human race, etc. The positive achievements are ignored. I hope that it is a mere fad or fashion that might go on for while and tend to die away but I suppose that I’m being a bit too optimistic when I hope that will be the case. I do hope that most people, the average person, merely thinks that people like jane Fonda are complete morons, nasty hate-filled people, and complete fools and take no notice of their ravings.

For many of those men finding a likeable American female is like looking for a needle in a field of haystacks. They say that we are only remembered for no more than two generations past our death. I do not think Hanoi Jane will be remembered past the time it takes for her movies to stop showing; and they will. No one cares what she has to say. The world has spent the past three years being hoodwinked and unless we retain an ability to think for ourselves, we will be thrown to the lions. THINK and please do your homework.
