According to Iran International, Iran has not satisfied with the performance of Hamas in its jihad war against Israel, and is “unlikely to give more aid to this group.” So now Hamas wants a special meeting between its leader Ismail Haniyeh and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Raisi did, in fact, recently meet with top Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials, and he “urged Muslims to “use all their capacities to achieve the violated rights of Palestine and the freedom of the holy Quds [Jerusalem].” The longstanding “resistance” against Israel has always been about Islamic conquest. But that was a different meeting from the one being planned between Hamas’ leader and Iran.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recently called Hizballah the “driving force of current escalation.” Hizballah is receiving $700,000,000 from Iran, while Hamas gets $100,000,000. Now, with Hamas dropping in status, the group has decided to step up and send its top leader in hopes of getting more aid from Iran, in order to further its jihad against Israel.
Hamas now has something to prove as it auditions before Iran for increased funding. But things aren’t going as Hamas might have hoped. Israel just closed dozens of Hamas crypto-accounts and struck 16 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets (mostly Hamas) in an overnight raid in response to 100 rockets, killing the Hamas team blamed for shooting a British family in West Bank.
“Hamas Pushed Iran Into Inviting Leader To Garner Financial Aid,” Iran International, May 5, 2023:
Iran International has learned that Palestinian militant group Hamas pressured the Islamic Republic into inviting its leader to Tehran hoping to get financial support.
According to our sources, the official invitation of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was made following numerous requests because the Palestinian group is struggling with financial problems.
Haniyeh is expected to visit Iran in the near future, the Gaza-based terror group announced last Friday, April 28. Haniyeh’s visit will be in relation to “political and field developments,” Hamas said, with Haniyeh expressing thanks and appreciation for the call, confirming his acceptance of the invitation and his intention to go to Tehran soon.
Iran International’s sources claimed that Hamas’ assets have been confiscated in several countries and currently the channels through which the group could receive aid in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin are also blocked. Therefore, the group sees the Islamic Republic as among its few sources of income.
The sources added that although the Islamic Republic continues to provide financial aid to Hamas despite its own economic situation, Tehran is not satisfied with the performance of this group against Israel and is unlikely to give more aid to this group.
In December, Palestinian Arabic language daily newspaper Al-Quds cited informed sources in Lebanon as saying that the Islamic Republic had cut off its financial support for some Palestinian groups, without specifying which groups…..

Any Iranians wondering whether there was anything that would stop their regime from funding Hamas might be surprised to know that there is a threshold, and that too one based on a result! That’s more than can be said about our foreign policy establishment
