Prior to the UN’s Nakba Day event, the Israeli ambassador to UN, Gilad Erdan, requested that member states avoid the event. 45 countries (including America) ended up boycotting what turned out to be two Nakba Day events at the UN. Others countries that steered clear of the events included:
the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Albania, Ukraine and India and 11 of the European Union’s 27 member states. Those states were: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia.
Nakba Day is commemorated by Palestinians as the day of “catastrophe,” when Israel was born. During this brazen event on American soil promoting jihad against Israel, “Abbas’ speech was greeted with cheers of ‘Free, free Palestine’ and ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.’“
Abbas also slammed America and the UK. Try slamming an Islamic country on its own soil.
Abbas, who makes no secret of his hatred of Israelis, also called on the UN to suspend Israel’s membership. America should long ago have pulled out of the UN.
As an added blow, Abbas accused Israel of “lies like Goebbels,” and denied Jewish ties to the Temple Mount. It is mind-blowing what the West tolerates from Islamic supremacists as they scream “Islamophobia” at every turn.
Other speakers on Monday included UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini. The jihad-supporting UNRWA is laden with corruption, with the number of Palestinian “refugees” ever growing. Historically, as Palestinian Media Watch reports:
UNRWA was established in 1949 when approximately 726,000 Arabs (according to UN figures) who had been displaced during Israel’s War of Independence were put under UNRWA’s care. Incredibly the number has grown today to 5,700,000 across 58 camps.
Yet the organization says it’s struggling, and wants $1,600,000,000 more for 2023.
“UN Holds Palestinian ‘Nakba Day’ Ceremony As 45 Countries Refuse to Attend,” Andrew Bernard, Algemeiner, May 15, 2023:
The United Nations on Monday hosted Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the “Nakba” — the Arabic word meaning “catastrophe” that is used by many Palestinians to describe the founding of the State of Israel in May 1948.
Speaking for nearly an hour, Abbas repeated a litany of Palestinian accusations about Israel’s founding and the conflict between Jews and Palestinians going back to the 1917 Balfour Declaration.
“Britain and the United States specifically bear political and ethical responsibility directly for the Nakba of the Palestinian people because they took part in rendering our people victims when they decided to establish and implant another entity in our historic homeland for their own colonial goals and objectives,” Abbas said. “And Israel would not have continued its hostility and aggression without the support it receives from these two countries.”
Abbas also said that the Palestinian Authority would be bringing “thousands and thousands” of complaints to the International Criminal Court, a move that the Palestinians had agreed not to do until August as part of a commitment by both the Israelis and the Palestinians to avoid “unilateral measures” during February’s peace summit in Aqaba, Jordan.
Abbas’s speech was greeted with cheers of “Free, free Palestine” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a slogan used by pro-Palestinian activists and by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Hamas in calling for Israel’s destruction….

One of the problems with Israel is their national goodness and decency. When this ‘nakba day’ was first created in 1998 by Yasir Arafat to counter the 50th anniversary of the creation of Israel, Israel should have immediately reminded the world of its own ‘nakba’ when 900,000 Jews were forced from their homes in many Arab and Muslim countries simply because the State of Israel was created in 1948.

It’s ironic that the Palestinians chose the largest embezzler of its treasure to speak on their behalf. The mob should have been shouting to him, “Free up the stolen loot, free up the stolen loot!”

It’s good that Israel is getting more diplomatic support than it normally does. Normally, the number of countries that would listen to Israel or vote their way would be in the single digits

Is there no way you can STOP giving this terrorist Abbas the oxygen of airtime? I am sure that after all these years he doesn’t even believe his own propaganda.

All the yelling and screaming and yet history has shown that Muslim on Muslim atrocities are far greater than others.

Abbas should be suspended from a rope.
