An article of Dutch penal code “states that deliberately insulting a group of people because of their religion or belief is a crime.”
All right. But do you really think that if Edwin Wagensveld had torn a Bible that he would be being investigated today?
This is all about wanting to keep Muslims in the Netherlands from becoming enraged and carrying out jihad attacks. It is, in other words, appeasement and submission.
“Dutch prosecutors investigate activist who desecrated Quran,” Associated Press, April 14, 2023:
THE HAGUE, Netherlands — An anti-Islam activist who tore pages out of the Quran and called it a “fascist book” in front of the Dutch parliament building in January is being investigated on suspicion of insulting Muslims, prosecutors said Friday.
The action by Edwin Wagensveld, leader of the Dutch branch of the far-right Pegida movement, and a Danish far-right activist’s burning of the Quran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm the same month sparked protests in several predominantly Muslim countries around the world.
While desecrating Islam’s holy book is not a crime in the Netherlands, prosecutors said comments that Wagensveld made while damaging the Quran amounted to an unlawful insult to the Muslim community.
In a written statement, the Public Prosecution Service of The Hague said his comments are suspected of breaching an article of the Dutch penal code “which states that deliberately insulting a group of people because of their religion or belief is a crime.”
The statement did not refer to Wagensveld by name, in line with Dutch privacy rules, but referred to a 54-year-old Dutch national who lives in Germany.
“The suspect will be questioned on this matter by the Dutch police,” prosecutors said….

Obviously not enough ACTUAL crime, to keep the ‘upholders of the law’ busy.

This is a test. Please ignore it.

I believe this is the exact same article of the penal code on the basis of which Wilders has been convicted for saying ‘less, less, less Moroccans’, so I’d be surprised if he will not be prosecuted and/or convicted.

According to the internet, the definition of desecrate is this:
“treat (a sacred place or thing) with violent disrespect; violate:”
Going by this definition, it would be impossible to desecrate the book of evil, foul, demonic, filth. The book is as far from sacred as the earth is from the farthest galaxy in the universe. Even more so. It is unholy. It is cursed, rather than sacred.
And this is a nation that makes it possible for parents to have their babies…from one year and up, ..killed, murdered *legally* if they deem the child is not having a good life, is *in pain,*….
What a foul and evil place that nation is.

Those who follow this Fascist Religious Cult all seem rather shallow in their beliefs as they feel the need to kill somebody for insulting their religion of peace… Such a contradiction in terms.
I guess the wee feeeeelings of muslims are more important that having a laugh as these idiots sure don’t have a sense of humour that’s for sure.
If you don’t have a sense of humour then it just aint funny.
Why don’t they reply to the burning of their hate filled book by saying, peace be upon you and we will be pray for your Soul…
Nope killing is where its at within the teachings of this awful ”religion”.

It’s a crime to insult muslims? But it is ok for muslims to insult, encourage rape and murder of non-muslims. What a deal.

Would they prosecute someone who tore up Mein Kamp??
The disordered Quran is nothing but a hate manual that should be banned under incitement to hatred legislation!
