Patrick Lumumba said that this “bastardized version of Islam” is different from true Islam, and threatens to dominate the continent. He didn’t explain how it differs from true Islam, or why, if it’s bastardized, it has such appeal for so many Muslims. He would do well to consider such questions. So would all leaders in the West, where the same false assumptions are universally accepted.

In the 2023 global terrorism index (GTI) ranking published by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), an independent and non-profit think tank, the Islamic State topped the ranking with 1,045 deaths and 410 attacks.
Al- Shabaab ranked next with 784 deaths and 315 attacks while Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISK) recorded 498 deaths and 141 attacks; Jamaat Nusrat Al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM), 279 deaths and 77 attacks; Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), 233 deaths and 30 attacks.
The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) ranked 6th with 219 deaths and 65 attacks followed by Boko Haram which is responsible for 204 deaths and 64 attacks….
According to Lumumba, the ideology of the terrorist groups operating in Africa should be viewed in the context of the Abuja declaration, which states that there is a plot by radical elements in the “Islamic world to Arabise and Islamise Africa”.
“One can see in the entire Sahelian region now, from Mauritania to Mali to Burkina Faso to Sudan to Niger to Libya, how this agenda is playing out,” he said.
“In my view, there is no deliberate effort on the part of African governments to deal with this particular version of Islam which I think is not classical Islam.
“These are terrorists who are using the name of Islam to spread an ideology which is violent and is designed to dominate. And they have not only captured the Sahelian region and parts of North Africa but they can also be found in the Horn of Africa.
“And we don’t seem to have a plan to check their spread in the continent. If we are not careful, in the next 50 years, it is this bastardized version of Islam that will dominate the continent of Africa.”

Yes, much like al capone’s gang went off the rails, and were so much worse than he had wanted them to be, the mozlums in africa are so much worse than what their fake prophet and false god want them to be.
Funny, though, because the mozlums in pakistan…burning their wives to death, raping and murdering young women, burning Christians, etc.; and in alghanistan, the same scenes are played out; the mozlums in Israel calling for genocide of the Jews;…all of them following the same play book of evil, demon filth.

Which one is the classical Islam. He does not know the history of the classical Islam he is talking about. Right from the time Mohammed declare himself as the prophet of Allah it had been bloodshed upon bloodshed on the “infidel”. How about wars of conquest on nations before Islam.

Prof Lumumba actually comes from the same region I come from Western Kenya.He’s a renowned lawyer and speaks eloquent English which I admires.The big problem we have today in Africa is that millions of people are ignorant about the basic theology of Islam including even the learned fellows.The version of Islam that is being fed to millions is a sanitized one.This has caused many to believe that Islam is just a normal religion like others.I’m not surprised to hear Prof Lumumba talking like that.I believe that what’s causing him to talk like that is fear of speaking about the truth and nothing else since he’s been holding seminar in Somaliland which separated from Somalia and is 100% Islamic.If he tells the truth about Islam some of his financiers may disappear.
