Diyanet is on strong Islamic ground. The Qur’an forbids adoption: “Allah has not assigned to any man two hearts within his body, nor has he made your wives whom you declare your mothers, nor has he made those whom you claim your sons. This is just a saying of your mouths. But Allah tells the truth and he shows the way. Proclaim their real parentage. That will be more just in the sight of Allah.” (33:4-5) The reason for this, according to Islamic tradition, is that Muhammad took up with Zainab, the ex-wife of his adopted son, and Allah helpfully outlawed adoption in order to avoid giving the impression that Muhammad had been lusting after his son’s wife.

Turkey’s top religious body (Diyanet) has filed a criminal complaint against journalist Fatih Altaylı on the grounds that he shared “grave insults against the institution and its personnel” on its social media account.
In the criminal complaint filed to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the institution stated: “It has become necessary for our presidency to fill a criminal complaint over the suspect who tried to provoke our citizens and earthquake victims against our presidency by insulting our presidency and its employees with derogatory expressions on his Twitter page.”
In the previous week, Diyanet opened a special section on its fatwa website about earthquakes and answered the question of “Can children of earthquake victims be adopted?” The fatwa stated that it is not right for foster families to treat adopted children like their own children and that “there is no barrier to marriage between the adopter and the adopted child.”…

I never heard of this before. And I am somewhat shocked. Muhammad himself was an orphan, and was raised by his uncle who certainly did treat him like his own child. I guess I should stop being so confused when learning that something that Muhammad benefitted from became forbidden by him later on. Hypocrisy.

They don’t want the child to be treated as a child, but be raped by the male of the family on a daily basis and call it “marriage.” Unless the child being “adopted” is a boy, and then it’s called something else.
In islam, every child must be treated as an option for satisfying the demonic lust of mozlum males.
when the child is born to the mozlum male and wife, if a girl, the male can be satisfied vicariously when he sells his daughter to another lusty creep.
Therfore, no child in islam is treated as normal parents treat their offsrping.

What the hell does this mean? Who is the “you” in this passage? “Nor has he [Allah] made your wives whom you declare your mothers” has at least two meanings: (1) Allah has not created [made] the women whom you declare to be your mothers, and (2) Allah has not made into your mothers the women whom you declare to be your wives.
And is “those whom you claim [to be? for?] your sons” even grammatical?
