New in PJ Media:
As Nikki Haley teases a 2024 presidential run, one thing can be said immediately in her favor: she is only 51 years old. When she was born, Old Joe Biden was just a member of the New Castle, Delaware County Council. So if she were elected president, a break from the gerontocracy that has dominated American politics of late would be more important, and refreshing, than her status as the first woman to be elected president. But is Nikki Haley really the change we need? Probably not, at least not any more than is John Bolton or Mike Pence. The last thing America needs is another establishment voice, and Nikki Haley is very much an establishment voice.
Haley is, however, positioning herself as the precisely the cure for what ails us. “When you’re looking at a run for president,” she proclaimed in a Fox News interview Thursday, “you look at two things. You first look at, ‘Does the current situation push for new leadership?’ The second question is, ‘Am I that person that could be that new leader?’” She quickly summarized all the problems the new president would face: “You know, on the first question, you can look all across the board, domestic, foreign policy. You can look at … inflation going up, economy shrinking, government getting bigger … small business owners not being able to pay their rent, big businesses getting these bailouts, all of these things warrant the fact that, ‘Yes, we need to go in a new direction.’”
Not surprisingly, Haley anointed herself as the new leader who can fix all that for us: “Can I be that new leader? Yes, I think I can be that leader.” Epoch Times noted that this was a reversal from Haley’s April 2021 statement: “I would not run if President Trump ran.” Explaining why she has departed from that position, Haley said: “I had a great working relationship with the president,” that is, Trump. “I appreciate all the foreign policy issues we worked on together. But what I will tell you is, the survival of America matters. And it’s bigger than one person. And when you are looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for new generational change.”
Haley added that she had said she wouldn’t run if Trump was running “before we surrendered to Afghanistan, it was before we saw this high inflation and high crime, it was before we saw drugs infesting all of our states, it was before we saw our foreign policy in disarray, so a lot has changed. And when I look at that, I look at the fact if I’m this passionate and I’m this determined, why not me?”

Yeh, why not? US politics is shambolic, drastic change must happen. She’s better than any other candidate.

DeSantis or Trump would have her as their VP in a heartbeat. I don’t see how she could beat out either of them in a primary, they’re both way too strong as candidates.

Why? She’s the establishment broad who equated President Trump w/ Dylan Roof after the church massacre at Charleston, SC. She’s cut from the same cloth as Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, and so on. Don’t make her ethnicity the sole reason for putting her in that spot
I saw it discussed on Red Eagle Politics that President Trump is considering MTG, Tulsi Gabbard and Stefanik as his potential VP candidates. Only MTG makes sense: Tulsi is still not a Republican, and has yet to demonstrate an appreciation of the Second Amendment (let alone her awful voting record on both Second Amendment and Immigration issues). Stefanik too is an establishment person who voted against the tax cut in 2018 due to the SALT deductions being eliminated (she’s from NY). I like MTG, and aside from her, if President Trump is determined to pick a lady, he could also consider Kerry Lake, Marsha Blackburn, Lauren Boebert and some others

No way would I vote for her, even if she ended up as the GOP candidate. Here is a very good article on why she would make a terrible president:
‣ She is a Bush neocon. If one thinks about the foreign policy moves that President Trump wanted to undertake, she was opposed to them. Whether it was fixing relations w/ Russia, withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, not getting involved in Iran….
‣ She is opposed to protecting the rights of Americans against Big Tech, using the argument that they are private companies and that government should not become involved
‣ She is weak on wokeness: in 2020, after the George Floyd death, she wrote that his death should be made painful and personal for all 330 million Americans. Essentially endorsing the nationwide riots by BLM and Antifa. Not just that: while in the elections in 2014, she had supported the rights of Confederate Flag supporters, she was quick to flip on that issue after the Dylan Roof massacre in Charleston. And in her response to the SOTU address by Obama, she indirectly compared President Trump to Dylan Roof

One more thing that makes me wary of her: her decision to flip her faith from Sikhism to Christian, while still playing her Indian-American ethnicity as a reason that Republican voters should pick her. First of all, we don’t pick candidates based on identity politics. But if we did, it would be bizarre to pick someone who changed her faith to be more in sync w/ the mainstream, while trying to have somebody there based on identity politics. By contrast, Harmeet Dhillon, who too is a Sikh, is a more genuine America-First candidate for RNC chair, but she didn’t change her faith to become more acceptable. And all this despite my reservation about Sikhs and where they stand vis a vis muslims

Hard NO on Haley. Along with all the other reasons, she’s quick to judgment — bad judgment — and was first in front of the cameras on Jan 7, throwing Trump under the bus and condemning any and all Jan 6 patriots.
I think Kristi Noem is a much better leader than Haley. I’d feel confident having either Noem or Blackburn as VP. A potential liability with Noem, however, may be her uncompromising position on abortion. South Dakota recently passed a law prohibiting ALL abortions, except to save the life of the mother. Even rape and incest victims are denied abortion is SD. This would not go over well with a lot of Republican and Independent voters in a national election.
Marsha Blackburn is super impressive. Rock solid patriot and leader with a ton of experience putting America first. Easily qualified for VP. She could step into the POTUS role too if necessary. I love watching her rip ass on Libs in those Senate hearings. Calm, cool, and deadly.
