Your prayers are urgently needed for our brothers and sisters in Yemen. There has been a sharp increase in arrests, with torture being used to draw information from believers. “Their faith is shaken,” Open Doors has been told.
Yemen is number five on the World Watch List, making it one of the most dangerous countries in the world to live as a Christian
Christians in Yemen are experiencing a sharp rise in arrests and torture, resulting in a traumatising impact on affected believers and their families.
The spike has come in recent months. These are not linked to one specific church network, but several different ones.
“We are specifically concerned because torture is used to force the Christians to give information about the activities of believers or names of other believers,” says an Open Doors spokesperson.
Some of the arrested Christians have been released, but they are struggling with the aftermath of the torture they suffered.
“They are shocked and are struggling with their faith…”
“We see that their arrest and the torture had, and still has, a deep impact on their families, too,” the spokesperson adds. “They are shocked and are struggling with their faith, as they were counting that God would spare them, that God would intervene. Their faith is shaken.”…

God will not intervene in the affairs of men, this includes all the crap that is happening in Islamic countries.
The only thing your God will do is provide guidance upon how to act.
This is why humans become disillusioned when they reach out to their Gods, whoever they are, and nothing happens.
The situation in Yemen sucks, but praying to God won’t help, only direct human action can alter anything.

The biblical record seems to be that God sustains people through suffering, rather than stopping it from happening completely. These Christians will be suffering from post-traumatic stress, and it may be that there are some unrealistic expectations amongst their friends and families about bouncing back from such an experience. We have a charity called the Medical Foundation for Victims of Torture here in the UK; I will contact them to see if they have any insights that they can offer to the Yemenite churches via Open Doors.

I wonder if the idiotic Pope knows about the treatment of Christians by his buddies, the Muslims, in Yemen and in all those endless parts of Africa. He should know and he should condemn such behaviour. There is no excuse for his silence.

He knows Tim, and I’m also certain he knows that islam is not the beautiful peaceful religion that he keeps telling us all that it is. When he first started preaching about the wonderful islamic religion, I believe he was genuinely just a naive fool who was clueless to it’s true true doctrine. Yes, he must know, John. His silence about the persecution of and murder of Christians by his mates, the Muslims, is a disgrace and downright evil. I don’t take much notice of this Pope and his opinions on other issues, I know he is a left wing type of character, but, when it comes to islam, he is a complete disgrace. He really doesn’t seem to care about the Christian victims of islam. I may be wrong, but I don’t think he has ever spoken up on the issue.

There are still Christians in Yemen? Israel evacuated the last Jews from there: they could have pulled the Christians as well, and forwarded them to some Christian nation of their choice as refugees. Maybe Cyprus

The Christians in Yemen are not an ancient community. They are probably Evangelicals who’ve apostasized from Islam; hence the Poope couldn’t care a rat’s patootie about them. There’s been a bit of disillusionment with Islam in recent decades, with people abandoning it for Christ.

As in the days of Nehemiah when he and his men were busy in the reconstruction of the walls around Jerusalem and the Arab became furious and indigent at this at this grand project of the rebuilding of the walls. Neh 4:1 and they thus despised the Jews , Neh. 4:4 ,and schemed terrorist attacks against them.
So the Jewish men set up watch for such attacks, Neh 4:8, therefore ,on this watch they set up guards to be ready for those terrorists attacks , Neh 4;16.
Likewise, in this twenty –first century in areas of the world, as the nations of Yemen,Pakistan , Sri Lanka Indonesia, Christians need to be “on watch and stand firm” First Corinthians 16:13.,as to be on guard from jihad-minded Muslim terrorist attacks against Christians .
For Christians together compose the symbolic body of Christ, Ephesians 1:13. 5:30.
Furthermore, it should be made known that the Muslim terrorists who engage in the persecution of Christians will not get away from the punishment of God for their wicked actions. As seen in Romans 14: 12. First Corinthians 3: 16, 17. Galatians 6:7.
