Good coverage of both Qatar and Libya. Yeah, it’s interesting how this world cup, which Qatar spent billions on to boost its international reputation, has backfired. Whether it was the death of the journalists, the coverage of the slave labor used in building those 8 stadiums for just one city for the same sport, or the crackdown on LGBTQIA agenda (on this one, a part of me does side w/ Qatar), it’s hilarious how it has backfired
On the Lockerbie suspect, I wonder which Libyan faction got him extradited. If it’s Gen Haftar’s faction, he ought to know that such gestures are not appreciated by this government. He did what he could during the Trump administration to get them to support him, just like he had the support of secular forces around Libya, like Russia, Egypt, France and the Emirates, whereas Turkey supported his rivals the GNA. And if it was the GNA, they should have known that doing something anti-US would have been more likely to earn Biden’s support
