Hamas-linked CAIR claims rise in racism and hate speech in Southbury, Connecticut and nationwide

We are in familiar territory again.

This time in Southbury, Connecticut where some individual or group left “racist flyers” addressed to white people at the homes of residents. The news report begins with:

Civil rights leaders say there is a rise in racist, and anti-Semitic incidents.

Experience will tell you that the phrase “civil rights leaders” is frequently an introduction to an appearance of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

But the giveaway that this is a CAIR broadcast is the racist flyers. CAIR representatives cannot resist stories like this one, and exploiting them even when their stated causes aren’t remotely involved is one of the ways they get on TV so often.

Reporter Gabby Molina leads off with:

Experts say this points to a larger problem that is being seen across our state and across the country.

Experts? Predictably, we cut to CAIR-CT executive director Farhan Memon, who says:

I think what we are seeing is a rise in hate speech overall in Connecticut and across this country.

And, then we cut away from him. This is so familiar to those who pay attention to CAIR on TV. The CAIR rep is cut in and out without warning, as if the station were trying to get us to associate CAIR with something like the FBI, as it is to the feds that we go next.

Gaby then returns with some infographics.

According to the most recent FBI data, hate crimes rose to the highest level in over a decade in 2020.

Jihad Watch discussed these FBI statistics in a previous post, but they’re worth revisiting.

This is the hate crime section of the FBI Crime Data Explorer. If one scrolls down slightly to the “Bias” chart, it clearly shows that the second most hated group is “Anti-White.” Followed by “Anti-Jewish,” with “Anti-Islamic (Muslim)” coming in at twelfth place. Of course, there is a separate section for the ladies, “Anti-Islamic (Female),” which lands at 13.

This link will show you that the number of “Anti-White” hate crimes increased by 30% from 2019 to 2022, from 666 incidents to 869.

What does it mean? It means there is no news reporting about this. When did white people surpass Jews in the hate crime rat race? We can see what the statistics say, but what do the numbers mean? It might make the subject of an interesting newscast.

But not this one. After some B-roll, the CAIR representative Memon returns to say:

This is the eighth time in the past year that a town in Connecticut has had racist messages distributed on its’ streets and its’ parks, and that is very disturbing for the residents.

Gaby tells us these are white supremacist and anti-gay flyers, shows us some B-roll, interviews the neighbors who do not like the flyers, and then says:

Experts say these views are becoming all too common.

Yes, don’t forget that the CAIR dude is an “expert.”

When you see very visible instances of it, occurring more often and in public you have to ask yourself, why this is? You can certainly point to public figures who now are openly associating themselves with and espousing racist views.

Sure, sure, but we also have the President of the United States saying that white people are our nation’s greatest terror threat. There are no shortages of anti-white books, newspaper, and magazine articles, college courses, music, websites, comedians, etc.

And now we have data from the FBI suggesting that all of this very chic disdain for white people is having an effect.

Additionally, there are groups that attack white police officers seemingly at every opportunity, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

CAIR does not like white people. It uses its media access to attack white people several times a month, every month for more than five years. Some of the video evidence is here. Here is some more.

The flyers have nothing to do with Muslims. Farhan Memon’s presence here has everything to do with his organization’s contempt for white people.

This broadcast was a bit of a disaster, as it inadvertently confirmed the message of the white supremacists. Those might even keep it to gain recruits, with the message: “They are out to get you.” The supremacists can show that there is suppressed information about the surge in hate crimes against white people. And that TV stations are introducing anti-white agitators as “leaders” and “experts.”

WTIC did not plan to make white supremacists look good. But some friendly advice: unless you know what you are doing, you are already getting off on the wrong foot whenever you think of putting CAIR on TV.

SOUTHBURY, Conn. — Civil rights leaders say there is a concerning increase of incidents involving racism, white supremacy, anti-Semitism and other forms of discrimination.

“I think what we’re seeing is a rise in hate speech overall. In Connecticut and across this country,” said Farhan Memon, chairman of the CT chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

According to the most recent FBI data, hate crimes rose to the highest level in over a decade in 2020 and the Anti-Defamation League reports that anti-Semitism reached an all-time high in the U.S. in 2021.

Unfortunately, you don’t have to go far to find it.

“This is the 8th time in the last year that a town in Connecticut has had racist literature distributed on its streets and in its parks and that’s very disturbing for the residents that live there,” Memon said.

Southbury is the latest community to be impacted by acts of hate. Pamphlets with messages of white supremacy and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric were found around town.

Some neighbors woke up to it right on their driveways.

“I was furious. My children are Black and it hit literally very close to home. And that was difficult for me that my children could pick this up and read it and feel some kind of way about themselves,” said Pete Gaffey of Southbury.

Experts said these extreme views are becoming all too common.

“When you see very visible incidents of it appearing more often and in public, you have to ask yourself why this is,” Memon said. “You can certainly point to public figures who are now associating themselves and espousing racist views,” he said….
