This latest development in the case of the attack in Romans-sur-Isère should revive the debate on criminal irresponsibility. Indeed, as reported by Le Parisien this Wednesday, December 14, a final psychiatric report concluded that the discernment of the main suspect in this terrorist knife attack committed in April 2020 had been abolished. As a reminder, on April 4, 2020, a migrant 33-year-old Sudanese, named Abdallah Ahmed-Osman, is said to have killed two people and injured five others during a murderous rampage through this town in the Drôme.
The suspect was quickly arrested and taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, he had recited the following words in Arabic: “Let the whole world hear that Islam is inevitably a witness. I testify that there are no other gods except Allah and Mohammad is his messenger.” The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office quickly took up the case. During a search of the individual’s home, the investigators got their hands on a newspaper in which Abdallah Ahmed-Osma [sic] described himself as “a fighter in the land of disbelief.”
A first expertise contradicts this version
A first psychiatric report had concluded that the judgement capacity was impaired, but had ruled out incapacitation. The new expert opinion, however, revised this conclusion. The two psychiatric experts in charge of the case at the Paris Court of Appeal concluded that Adballah Ahmed-Osman “suffers from an acute psychotic state that has overridden his capacity to judge and control his actions,” as reported by Le Parisien. They considered that a delusion had motivated the man’s act and not an alleged Islamist ideology.
A pronounced dismissal?
Thus, “the subject is not accessible to a criminal sanction,” they said in their report to the anti-terrorism judges on November 7. As Le Parisien indicates, the investigating judges could dismiss the case if they follow the conclusions of this latest report. A trial would then not be held. The investigating judges also have the possibility of letting the assize court decide on the criminal responsibility of the suspect, reports the daily.
The anger of the victims
The lawyer for several civil parties was quick to deplore to Le Parisien that his clients “are appalled by the conclusions of this expertise which contradict the first.” He recalled that the victims of this attack indeed want a hearing to be held before an assize court. “We will fight for this to be the case,” promised the lawyer.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the so-called ‘psychiatrist’ was a Muslim or a stupid Lefty trying to give this jihadi a free pass and an opportunity to kill even more unsuspecting French citizens.
Maybe he’s scared of being called an Islamophobe and doesn’t want his house egged or burned by Muslims. Maybe he got a nice big suitcase of cash from Qatar, though usually they influence politicians.
This is what happens when you treat an evil dangerous ideology that is waging war against you, as if it’s just another religion. To my knowledge John McCain and John Bolton were the first people declaring that we need to treat Islam as the enemy (ofc they added ‘radical’), either way they had it right.
Bolton mentioned as soon as you treat it as just another religion, they’ll get lawyered up and drag on the problem for decades and today we see the proof of his prophetic words.
The French continue to head down the wrong path. That’s fine if you have time on your side, but the more Muslims you let in, the stronger they become, until eventually they’ll just overpower you and take over your country. They could even do it ‘legally’ through votes.
And what exactly is the endgame here? If you keep treating every vicious Muslim killer as a mental patient needing help and each of them takes down 5-10 people, then very soon you’ll see millions of your people die off. Does that make any sense?
Ofc this isn’t unique to France either, we see the same cowardice and kid-glove treatment in nearly all western countries. I’m sure if any non-Muslim did the same thing, they’ll give the harshest sentence they could manage and won’t accept their religion as an excuse.
It’s disgusting and pathetic this double standard and in the end, it’ll just make the fight longer, and harder and far more innocent non-Muslims will pay the price in blood…because of the stupidity and weakness of those in positions of power and who can take another direction but refuse.

Of course not, he’s a Muslim, the law doesn’t apply. I used to think we had some hope of turning the tide, but with people like this in positions of power we are lost, and they are betraying us.

Part of the problem is that, even if he were mentally ill, the content of delusions and hallucinations is drawn from the person’s own background and experience – which, at a time when his judgement is allegedly impaired, includes material that justifies killing sprees.
The other thing is – if killing unbelievers and shouting “Allahu akbar” is a sign of insanity, what does that say about the “prophet” of Islam?
