In that, AP is fastidiously referring to Muslims who traveled to Iraq and Syria to fight for the Islamic State (ISIS). It evinces no curiosity about why this nation of “pristine beaches and expensive island resorts” would be so full of jihadis. That sort of question doesn’t seem to be of any interest to authorities anywhere.

Police in Maldives have arrested 14 people allegedly working with foreign Islamic extremists to carry out a bombing in the tiny archipelago state, police said.
The suspects had been working with the Islamic State group and apparently planning an attack with the intent of killing many people, Uswath Ahmed, the nation’s counterterrorism head, told reporters Monday night. He did not elaborate.
He said the suspects were arrested last Friday in three locations in the country and 13 homes were raided.

With a 100% Muslim population in a country where Sunni Islam is the state religion who in the Jahannam were they plotting to kill? Here is the list of countries with embassies or consulates in the Maldives:
Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
If it’s China, for their “reeducation” of the Uyghur Muslims, then the question is why now after so many years of focusing Allah’s commands to murder people on just Jews, the supporters of Jews, the U.S. and Shia Muslims? Of course Muslims kill each other but usually that would mean, in this case, a Shia Muslim or some separatist sect of Sunni Islam but if they are present in The Maldives they have been keeping an invisible profile. The U.K. doesn’t officially despise Israel so they might also be a target.
Another remote possibility is a staged slaughter with planted evidence implicating the Mossad or the CIA. That would relive some of the pent up murder lust that devout Muslims might have in a country with no real internal enemies while simultaneously confirming their position at the top of the Global Victim List.

I think the world will be a better place if climate change overnight submerges that island under water, and I hope none of those countries w/ embassies in Male agree to take them. Oh well, maybe Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Emirates, but no one else
