The Canadian “Liberals have no desire to collect data to support the measures included in Bill C71, which include a point-of-sale collection of ownership records on firearms by sellers.” Bill C71 contains amendments to Canada’s Firearms Act, “the Criminal Code and the Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and Other Weapons.”
Back in May, the Liberal government “tabled legislation that would have halted the importation, purchase, sale and transfer of handguns in Canada.”
The Liberal government subsequently imposed a gun freeze.
The freeze stops people from buying, selling or transferring handguns within Canada and prevents them from bringing newly acquired handguns into the country.
Another Toronto Sun report points out:
The problem with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handgun freeze is that it won’t freeze guns smuggled illegally into Canada from the U.S. which account for 85% of all handguns used for criminal purposes.
But Trudeau doesn’t care about facts. He wants to control Canadians. The Trudeau government can’t even be bothered to find out if “registered or unregistered firearms are used in homicides–or any other crime” for that matter, which anyone can see would be important for law enforcement authorities to know in order to help them ensure the safety of Canadians. The Trudeau gun ban isn’t about national security, as the government pretends. It disarms law-abiding citizens, leaving only the criminal elements of Canadian society armed.

If they admit that most or almost all guns used to commit violent crimes are unregister illegal guns it goes against the agenda of taking guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens don,t you know! There is no point in using logic with these people because we’re arguing apples and oranges.
Conservatives want to preserve the 2nd Amendment, and the Right to self defence, so your reasoning is 100% valid.
But liberals want tyrannical control, so the 2nd Amendment defense must be destroyed by any and all means possible. Even blatant lies.

The problem in Canada is that even their Conservatives don’t believe in the right to bear arms. Which is how Trudeau’s crackdown on truckers last year succeeded.
